Gmail or Yahoo Mail

I have been using Yahoo mail a lot for over 10 years now.
But in the past years there have been a lot of spam message that entered my mails. Though Yahoo filter out those spams for you, it is still annoying to know there's so many of them. Aside from the spam, there are also some unusual emails I get from my friends. The emails contains links to a selling site. I'm sure they are not the one who sent it. It must be email worm or something.
My experience in Gmail is a bit different. Less spam and I got no unusual messages from my friends there. I guess Gmail has better protection compared to Ymail.
What do you think? Which do you prefer to use the most?

I think that Gmail is better. I use it 3 years, and I have not met any problems with Gmail. Good luck to you.

I agree with u that Gmail is so much better when it comes to filtering those spam mails. So far, I have not had much problem with my Gmail account as compared to yahoo mail. But then again, Gmail is mainly for my personal usage, thus I won't be sharing or using it for any sites.
Maybe that's why I don't get as much spam in my Gmail? Another factor to consider is that, mylot is a really legit site and good because nothing of my email address has ever been leaked by mylot, which I think it's a good job on mylot's side.

I have been using yahoo for 6 years already, and all my friends know my yahoo email address. I have been planning to delete my yahoo account but because of the long list of friends who have known my old address, I couldn't terminate my account. I feel that Gmail is more secured though that's why I use it for my confidential transactions.
When it comes to familiarity and ease of use, I use my yahoo account. But if we are talking about security,I always use my Gmail account.

I am only sticking to Yahoo because I have gotten used to it. Even when Yahoo upgraded, I kept changing my preferences back to the Yahoo Classic.
So far, I have positive personal comments for Gmail. It barely receives those messages which seem to be a scam. And I barely get those reports of undelivered mails.

Everybody has a Yahoo Mail. That's quite an exaggeration but it closely approximates the truth. So I still maintain mine, for those communications that need to be within the same provider. However, Gmail is far better than YMail. Yes, it has less spam, and always works well. Sometimes I find it difficult to attach files on YMail. Perhaps it's because too many people are using it.

I use both and I get way more spam in my gmail box than in my Yahoo box. The amount of spam you get has nothing at all to do with the mail service. If you have your email address on sites where people can get hold of it, and those sites have a lot of spammers, then you're going to get spam. It's that simple. If you don't won't spam, don't make your email address public. You can also get a mailbox from another company and keep that one just for possible spam. There are a few sites that I don't want to hear from in my mailbox, so if I have to give them my address, that's the one I use. As far as I can tell, both Gmail and Yahoo have good spam protection, but they can't do everything.
