Should Priests Get Married?

While most of the response or all of them would like to see a married priest, for me I think and believe that they should never get married. Marriage needs commitment. It needs financial support. It is a totally different vocation. Priests must be totally committed to serving God and follow the path of perfection. Matthew 19:21 "Jesus told him, "If you want to be perfect, go and sell all your possessions and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me." But if a priest chose to marry then he should leave being a priest and enter marriage life committed to his family. Because he cannot totally give up possession and total service by entering marriage life.

You choose each time every second (even a cup of coffee drink). Priest in the world live a spiritual life and explain to us how to achieve this. He has chosen. Or may have time for other activities? A few thousands of years this was the norm, and until today, derived from sifting hundreds of other, with various improvements. One of the improvements can marry. To look; at which side to go into spiritual or no? if all be able live a spiritual life and obey the all 10 commandments, etc. - hey do not need a priest?! Hey that human activity is not god. Hear what God says, and not left the matter? No. The question is there so much more. Try that apparently only in the universe as the universe is billions of suns, billion in the universe. Maybe it is worth follow all the commandments of God? The time came that the decrease in demand ivairelypes priest. Time came to go to the only love of nature and the creator. So I think it is not worth mixing spirituality with everyday life.

Yes, I am also of the opinion that priests should be allowed to get married. It would give them a new perspective of life. They would not be protected in their institution, but facing the same problems like the rest of us! In the past year many people have left the church, concerned about the treatment of children and I think it is going to take years for those people to get over their experiences. I don't think that any amount of money is going to compensate for what they had to go through!

I think it is good for the priests to get married. It doesn't take against the religion. After all, being truly happy is the goal. It expresses that this religion encourage people to love others. Marriage is a kind of love. I love China

I agree that priests should get married. Only people made the law not allowing priests to marry someone they love. Priests have needs too and they also deserve to be happy..

prohibited in the religion or not, it is unfair that those who choose to be a priest and want to spread the word of God to not get married. Some people say that priests cant get married because in a way they are married to God. Well God doesnt give eveything we need down here. They should be able to choose both religion and happiness and not choose between them.

I think there are many people who would want them not to get married... I have read though that before priests were not allowed to marry just because the church does not want the cash, money, or fortune to go to the family... cause it may become a "Family" business eventually. I would say there could be some truth in this... but of course sine I see in born again christians that pastor do marry and they seem to have a good time still, full time even to cater to the needs fo the church, the congregation... i'd say i would not hinder them to follow God's path and i won't disagree with them getting married.

Yes they should be able to get married! I think the Catholic church is being really stupid about this and always have been! In every other Christian religions the pastors and ministers are allowed to get married! It is good thing! They have a purpose not just to service God but to enjoy what regular life has to offer! As a priest he is forbitten to be a husband and have children! I think that is wrong and very sad! I also think if they were allowed priests to marry the Catholic Church would have more men in the priesthood! After that,the Pope shouyld like w0omen become prists,too! Another thing that we can get into!

I feel the priest should be able to Marry. They give marital advice, how better than to experience it themselves. Adam was created and then Eve why? That should be the answer in itself. One compliments the other in life.

Yes a priest should marry so they do not burn. In the Bible I Corinthians 7:9 says "But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn. I believe there are many leader commit fornication but with the Catholic priest, there is quite a bit more fornication and child acts done and part because they are burning. I am a man and can honestly say that if I would not be married, I would feel the need to have s3x. God created Adam and Eve and part of Eve's job is to meet the specific need.

Of course. Marriage has been applied for centuries around the world. Why would they secluded themselves. That was deprivation of desires. If its true the bible doesn't prohibited it, then just allow the marriage. Bible is god's word, doesn't? Then follow the guide given..
