When I was a child, up until the 5th grade, I always wanted to become a teacher. Suddenly it changed when I was about to enter college. Well, in college I didn't really regret my course, in fact I enjoyed it.
Then, I worked for a call center. I started as an agent, then a QA, and finally a trainer. Is this really fate that led me to the role that I used to dream about when I was a kid?
What about you? Are you in a position right now where you had foreseen long time ago?

I'm still taking my education. I was told by my parents that I once aspired to become a street cleaner when I was in kindergarten...
I still haven't decided on what I would be when I grow up. I hope it will be related to computers, but I'm not sure my future will allow me that.
I guess I have to make up my mind soon...

When I was a kid I wanted to be a pediatric surgeon. I didn't end up anywhere near that though. Now I am just a Preschool Teacher, far from what I wanted to be so long ago...

Unfortunately I have to say NO, I am one of the statistic you hear about everyday on the news. I lost my very long time dream job because of bad economics and now I have struggled day in and day out as I have absolutely no income and no one wants to hire a very over qualified person.
So this was not a dream I wanted to go along with my dream job as now it has left me wondering if my foreseeable dream job was worth pursuing.
Although I realize that things do happen, my bill collectors do not unfortunately.

I'm not really sure what age but I wanted to be a:
Nun - because my Aunt is a nun and I thought it's a job, then I found it's a "calling".
Doctor - common but because my other Aunt is a midwife, didn't know it's a different job.
Whale - seriously! I thought I could turn into one.lol
Pre school teacher - because I love kids, then I found out it was difficult.
Car racer - I love speed, then I get to know large amount of money is needed to fulfill such dream. And right now, I don't even know how to drive.
Computer genius/Programmer - then I hated it.
I took Computer Network Engineering plus I studies Computer hardware too. I love it! What I hate about it? Discrimination - companies prefer male than female when it comes to networking and hardware. So right now, I'm jobless.
I also wanted to be a business woman. Unfortunately I don't have money to start my own business. I have a talent for it. Since I was 10years old, I've been selling stuffs. Until I got into college.

As a child, my dream was to become a firefighter. When I was in primary school, I wanted to be a car designer, during which the ambition lasted till secondary school. When I reached polytechnic, which was the level I'm at now, my ambition is to become a pilot. I hope I can be a pilot.

Hi jp
My Choices wrt what I became after I grew up kept changing from time to time and the last one that I hoped for was finally what I am right now. I started my career dreams to be an astronaut and even spend my school days researching (or trying to research and gain knowledge of the Solar System, Stars and many other things). Then When I joined college, I wanted to be a Train Engine Driver coz I love the trains and wanted to spend my life on them. Unfortunately they required me to have an Engineering Background and I have none. Then when I studied Computers, I wanted to be A Software Programmer and then A Systems or Network Administrator. Have achieved some of this and have spent the last 16 years of my life in association with computers and hope that this is what I was destined for.

I wanted to become a teacher too, because my mom,my uncle and my aunt were teacher and I wanted to be like them. But,because in my country teacher don't earn so much money, they don't let me!
After that,I choosed a "special" University:biochemistry. Then I dreamed that I will make children in tube!
Now I have my "little" business,I work with 4 guys,my daughter was born like all children in this world and I don't make at least a mouse in tube!

I wanted to be a sports journalist for some reason. I am not a sports journalist today, but it's okay, I don't think I would have been a good one anyway!

Most people have dreams! But they are dreams after all, not realities!
We have to survive, to be admitted by others. That is the mission for humans.
We should have dreams. They give us motivation to survive.
However,we shouldn't stand still while the world is going!
We should change the dream if we have to due to the force of the enviroment!
As for me, my child dream is to me a scientist. Actually, I am a science PHD student now!
But,now,my dream changes,I want to be a business man, because I want to make my family memebers happy. That is my top dream now.
Maybe,in decades years,I would change my dream if I have no problem to support my family. I would rather to become a travlor!
Wish your dreams come true.
