Just now my husband's niece did the strangest thing, she poured a tablespoon of vitamins to a glass of milk and had my boys drink a glass each. I don't know if that is okay, can anyone help enlighten me? Is it okay for milk to mix with vitamins? I always assumed that vitamin syrups are suppose to be taken directly so that it can be absorbed by the body immediately. I hope the mixture will not cause my boys to have sick stomachs

I don't think it will matter. Just be sure that she isn't overdosing the boys. Overdoses of vitamins can be even more harmful than deficiencies! Most people nowadays tend to overdose and have all kinds of symptoms and damage from it. If they eat a good diet with plenty of colorful vegetables, greens and proteins with whole grains, they probably don't need many supplements.
One huge deficiency most people have is Vitamin D--mainly because most of them avoid the sunshine and when they do get out they slather on the sun block. The D that is added to milk and cereal is D2, which is inferior to the natural D3.
Do some research and look up the amounts the boys need if it really bothers you then figure out if they're getting what they need. Any more than the recommended could seriously compromise their health!

I don't think she is overdosing the boys. I was very clear when I told her to only give them a tablespoon of multi-vitamins a day. Thanks for the tip regarding the vitamin D, good thing I don't have much problem with that since I try to make sure that my boys get out in the sun at least once a week. I got them basketballs to play with, in the garage, that way they can get some sun and physical exercise good thing they're boys because they don't mind getting brown-skinned

Good for you!! Too many people are paranoid of the sun and it's actually essential for our health to get some sunshine every day. Sunblock has made more people sick from vitamin deficiencies than the cancer it's supposed to prevent.
Have a great day!

It doesn't matter how you take your vitamins. I take mine with a meal. It's easier on the stomach. I have a sensitive tummy. If the kids don't mind the taste of vitamin milk, it's not a problem. Just be sure they are getting the right dose for their age.
