I mostly talk using a British-Dutch accent and I have the tendency to lean more and more towards an almost fully Brittish accent, of course it will never sound completely native but it's better than sounding overly Dutch, aye?
Anyway what sounds like a more clever accent to you British or American?

I personally can't categorize an accent as "clever"...easy to comprehend is more appropriate....anyway if you meant the later I would say American English is easier to understand but British English is more pleasant to listen...and Irish English is lovely...

Accents aren't clever. Either the person is or they isn't.

it depends on what I have to consider.I love British accent.it is not as clear as American English but I like listening to Brits "tolking loike that" (talking like that).if in a professional setting, American English is the norm.it can be easily understood.

I was trained the American way so I am partial for the American English accent. I like listening to Ellen de Generes or Oprah. They speak well, clear and well enunciated. But somewhere in the American way of speaking, a distinctive thick accent had been incorporated, like the way the NBA players speak. Sometimes, I do not understand right away the words they are saying.
But I am learning to like the British accent. People give me a second look when I try to talk like Jude Law or Emma Watson!
