It is rainy season in our country and right now we have a storm coming. She usually wakes up when she hears the rain pouring. She is a light sleeper like me so I can't really play music while she sleeps.
Any suggestions on what I can do for my baby?

Hi,
I guess most of small kids scared of lightning and
thunder.
It goes same to my son...when he was awake, he will
scare of thunder and lightning. So I always make sure
I will at his side during raining time.
However, when my son is sleeping, he won't easily wake up
because of thunder and lightning.
To play safe on your condition, try to stay at your daughter's
side during raining season,at least she feel secure.
Tell her that she is safe and nothing is gonna happened.
Give her a hugs and kiss her forehead, she can feel the warmth and
sure will feel comfortable.

Sometimes if you put your daughter in bed with you even just for the night it might help. She probably needs something to feel more comfort at this time. If she has something special it will be a comfort too =)

Yes, I put her beside when she's scared. She sleeps soundly when we co-sleep.

I don't know the age of your son, but I guess he is a little kid. Many children are afraid of thunder and lightening when they are young. But, this will change when as they grew older. My sister was very afraid of thunders when she was a kid. She used to sleep with my parents on those days and used to hide below tables or chairs when it happened during day time. But, now she doesn't care about it. Time will change it. Don't worry.

She's 13 months now. I do hope her reactions to thunder and lightning will change soon. Thanks Daliaj

Well, as you've mentioned, I really do think that playing music is taking things too far. However, a little bit of white noise in the room with her would probably help her to sleep a lot during the rainy season. By white noise I really do mean something as simple as having a fan running in the room. If you are afraid that it would make her cold, you could turn it so it doesn't blow on her at all but it is still giving that little bit of white noise.
