What good does sweating do?

I know that sweating is the body's way of trying to keep itself cool, but is there anything else to it?
I mean, why do some people go to saunas? Is there somesort of metabolic issue involved in sweating, like metabolising the liquids you've drank, or does sweating just get rid of some water weight?
When I was a kid I thought sweating alone meant burning calories; like when you got really sweaty while excercising it meant that you'd burned a ton of calories, lol. w

Hello oilisaur,
The answer you mentioned is pretty acurate. My question is why someone sweat is saltier than others you know with your boyfriend or girlfriend etc... and why people sweat more than others is because they drink more water and our temperature is differnt from the other person. I do not sweat i the heat like other people until it is like 100 degrees but I do mind the winter more when it 20 or degrees or below.
Thanks and have a great day

Drinking lots of water and doing what you mentioned is a great thing.
Drinking water/sweating ,Detoxifies body,Flushing all impurities out of your body. People who don't have sweat glands must stay in doors on hot, humid days. They also cannot take gym . What other complications I am not sure of.
I think that's a good reason to keep on sweating.
