Red Sky At Night, Shepherds Delight / myLot

I was just sitting outside in the back garden, looking up to the sky, and the sun was starting to set down below the Pentland Hills,, it caught the clouds and illuminated them red. I love the colour of the low lying clouds at night :)

my grandfather was a sailor with the british navy before, during and after world war 1 and the line was red sky at night, sailors delight.

I never knew that. That is very interesting as my Grandpa sailed with the merchant navy at the age of 16. I must ask him if he's ever heard that line :) thanks for your insight :)
