What if Ninoy Aquino wasn't assassinated and he had the chance to be President?

Would you think that our country today have been better? Would you think that poverty have been alleviated? Or do you think that it wouldn't have made a difference? I haven't been a fan of Ninoy before but today, as some sort of commemoration of Ninoy's death anniversary, my friend and I were watching Ninoy documentations on YouTube, and suddenly my eyes were kind of opened and my heart was kind of touched by his soulful and patriotic speeches. You can feel his love for our country by the fervor of his words. When I was in college, our History teacher told us that a nation's economic situation is caused by its previous leaders. It actually makes sense. I think that as long as we don't have a decent and strong leader that would make an amazing difference to our country then I guess we'll remain a third-world for a longer time. How 'bout you guys? What's your POV on this? I would love to hear your thoughts :)

we would have a better chance. honestly Cory was not the best person and she was not qualified to lead a struggling country. i'd say with all respect to her that she has brought us freedom (or helped us obtain it) but i believe she brought devastation too.. people under her cabinet took the ooportunity and has taken so much advantage of her... i'd say we were better off with ninoy aquino then. i hope things have been different then and now.
