Is everyone capable to love?

I wonder if everyone's capable to love.I met some old women and men who claim they never experienced love in their lives. They had families, and children, and were respectful to their partners, but never shared their deepest thoughts and feelings with them.Duty and nothing but duty.Wrong partner or they simply weren't capable to love?

I think nobody is capable of love. Even the most evil person or the most wanted criminal is capable of loving.. one way or another. I believe that even one's in their lives the old folks you have talk to had experience love, it's just either they let it slip away or they didn't allow it to enter their lives. I feel truly sad for those people who feel that they are not capable of loving well in fact they have so much love to give.

Love is energy.Unused energy never disappears, it turns to sadness, hate, sorrow and it shouldn't be like that.

I want to correct myself.. It's "I think nobody is NOT capable of love.". Thanks

Hard question to answer. There are some people who were raised to bottle up their feelings, living instead by what they perceive as duty. Are they not capable of feeling it, or is the feeling buried so deep that they can't acknowledge it? If you happen to know of such a person, try asking if they had a pet sometime during their lifetime that they loved. Pets are easy to love, because one risks nothing to give that love. People are a different story.

Love for a pet is also a form of love.I know some who don't like pets, but they don't like humans too!

I truly believe that everyone is capable to LOVE. No exception since we are all human and that's the basis, the foundation of our being. In contrary to the old men and women that you've met who claimed that they never experienced love. I guess their understanding of love is sharing a deep, intense feelings for others.. but that's not really what love's all about. Love can be depicted not just in emotions but in the mind as well. What do you think keeps them from fulfilling their duties to their family and children? That's showing some LOVE already.

yes everyone is capable to love ^^ but is true some marriage dont work bcs they are not in love or never were. some people just marry to dont feel lonely, other ones marry bcs they were heartbroken and marry someone that loves them and they dont love back. anyway i think that if someone is not happy in marriage or relationship must end it. we all have someone for us and we find it sooner or later so we must not waste time with wrong people^^

I like this point of view. There's no difference between emotional pain of married person and a single one.Better end it.

I wonder if when they lose their spouse or children will they discover what love was really about? I think some people are in love but just don't realize it till it's too late. Maybe they think they don't love their spouse but when they die will they realize what love was really about? As far as some people not being able to love....yes I think they must be out there somewhere, look at some murderers or rapists.

I don't know.Feeling of pity is a bit different than love.Sometimes I cry for people I didn't care before when they get in a very miserable situation or die.But it doesn't mean I love them.Sometimes their stories reach me from TV, newspapers. Criminals are capable to love only themselves,I guess.

Well I just thought I'd mention this because one day someone I knew was always telling everyone that she was not in love with the person she was with, then one day he got so sick an ambulance was called. It was amazing to see this person tell them they loved them in case anything happened. It wasn't the usual cold person I knew her to be.

Everyone has the ability to give and receive love. You don't need any special training or skills for this. Everyone is capable of this feeling of affection. for some, it is just easier to show. If someone feels they are not capable of this emotion, they may just be insecure about the relationship they seek.

EVERYONE is capable to love. we are in this to love and be love. Maybe the old man and man were just in their deepest emotions. If no one's love them how can they afford living in this kind of world.

Everyone is capable to love, we are all created by God's Image and Love. God is Love and so are we. Every person has their own weakness, some there family, children and husband. I guess those people who claim that they do not feel love are psychopaths. They are just there being with other people manipulating them so that she can get whatever they want. They don't recent to whatever wrong that they are doing but I guess they can still love.. ALL PEOPLE are capable to Love.. it is just some are using that Capability and some are NOT!

Could be, I never considered the possibility that some choose not to love.

it is not that they are not capable of loving or whatsoever. Sometimes people, human as they are, tend to become someone to different people. As they masked their true selves they also masked their emotions overriding all sorts of feeling including love, thus, burying it to their subconscious. Even if they have families still they are but individual entities who have deep thoughts and feelings within them that they may have consciously or unconsciously shared to someone else though.

I can't imagine living a life in a mask with someone so close as spouse. But of course, some words are always left unsaid and feelings unexpressed.Sad that people live like that.
