my two sisters are now in their mid 20s but they still both love to watch anime movies and anime stuffs. they don't want to go to the dance or hang out with others. they prefer going home and watch anime, because they're anime addicts.i have learned a term for that addiction. it's Animeatosis. A term used to describe someone who is addicted or obsessed with Japanese Animation, or Anime. A person with Animeatosis will often associate everything with Anime and will always watch or use Anime.

I'm 20 years old and i too watch anime but i'm not really addicted to it, like i cant live without watching any movie or episode.
I sometimes watch anime only if i'm free and that anime show is being aired at TV. Not like I eagerly waits for a particular show to watch.
And i watch all kind of Anime, not just japanese anime.
And sometimes watch animated movies if they are really good on reviews.
But since childhood, there is only one anime show which i like. That's the DragonBall series. I've watched each and every episode of DragonBall,DragonBall Z and GT series.
And i'm waiting for its Kai series to be released officially in English.

Yeah, KAI series is just the reworked version of the "Z" series.
Its produced in High definition by reworking to original footages, scans and images created while creating the Z series.
And its number of episodes are less and the storyline is also a little-bit retouched.
You can read it about on wikipedia.
Here is the link:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Dragon_Ball_Z_Kai_episodes
But these episodes are only in Japanese languages. Its already on torrent for download with english subtitles but i'm waiting for its official release in English.

Wow! I never knew there was a KAI series. how ever, i think i may have watch one of the episodes. it's the Ep where vegeta had a brother, and then he asked him for help. nah, i think you know the story to that already since it was once in youtube. i believe the "kai" series had a different production already.
flagella, you can watch it on youtube, i believe it was only through vegeta's series where the show was showed in channel 9. except in channel 7.
by the way, in my opinion, Dragon Ball Evolution "S*cks"

There there.. You need to have proper break times in between. Anime can really get very addicting if you like them. To have a break from watching one piece i come here and do something more useful. I don't want to keep watching anything all day long. I have a recognition for doing things in excess. I mean sometimes i do only one thing all day just because i like it.

oh yes! it's part of my daily routine..no not exactly everyday..i'm over 90 years old and i wouldn't say i'm addicted to watching anime but that's one of my THINGS other than breathing...no i'm not at my 90's i'm much younger but my peers would probably say i'm too old to be into it...FYI i'm into these animes: (1) One Piece, (2) Bleach & (3) Naruto...i like cartoons generally sigh

I'm 19, I also watch anime, online. I'm not really obsessed with anime but I'm following a few series that I started when I was younger that is still not finished airing yet. Like Naruto it's still not over yet but it's not everyday it's like every week it comes out.
If your sisters are addicted like they can't go out of the house or they can't function as a citizen then they should meet with a psychologist. If they are still functional then that is fine.

It doesn't matter what age you are, anime can appeal to anyone of any age. I'm 22 and I started watching it two years ago, and I don't care that it's animated. I've always loved animation and good stories and anime gives me both most of the time.

At my age, I still watch anime, even though I don't have enough time to watch as much as I would want to. I really appreciate a few series and I am not as updated as I was before. Your sisters already have Animeatosis? I guess I am still okay, not that any form of addiction is harmful, since I don't refer to things around me with any anime shows that I have watched so far. At any rate, I guess those with the same addiction can relate with each other, doesn't really do harm to non-anime interested people, I assume. They just have to explain to the unknowing why they would associate such things with anime..? (^_^")

animeatosis huh. it's the first time i've heard of this word. i had no idea that there was such a word, as i thought that those who were obsessed with not only animes but mangas were just known as otakus. i'm definitely learning something new here.
like many others, i too enjoy watching anime but am not addicted. well i used to be, when i was young, but you could say i outgrew it. i watch animes to pass my time online nowadays and when i'm in the mood. right now, i'm currently watching innocent venus. it seems good with all the heavy weaponry and all. i usually write about all the animes and mangas i enjoy on a blog so that i can refer to it in the future for recommendations. it's just a simple review basically and a fan's rant that's all. nothing much hehehe

I'm 23 and I still watch anime. Hmmm. I guess I'm not addicted to it, because I could actually forget to watch it if I needed to do something or go somewhere. My dad watches anime too. He's is his 40's, but very minimal. When he just catch it on tv only.

I am eighteen and I love to watch anime it really enjoyable it is so awesome. My favorite animes would be Naruto it is really good oh and Kuroshitsuji and that one is just super. I don't think that their is anything wrong with watching a lot of anime you know it is really entertaining.
I watch anime and I still hang with my friends and stuff your sisters can do that you know they can do both nothing wrong with that. Anime isn't just for little kids well actually anime is for like teens and adults because of all the violence and other stuff that it may contain.
Yeah though I remember when I watched anime the first show I watched was Bleach and I got addicted from then on out. Anyway hope you watch an anime show because their really interesting my friend didn't watch anime before, but I told her to watch Naruto and she got hooked.

Whats wrong with watching anime!. I usually watch it too because its more interesting than thats bored soap opera.
There are so may anime movie who really interested my favorite is Naruto and detective Conan. But I can not watch it regularly because I am really busy myself so if I had spare time I usually watch it for relaxing my mind.

lol thanks I learned something, Animeatosis.. hmm.. I love watching anime and yes sometimes I prefer to stay at home because I couldn't wait to watch the next episode or something. But I don't think that I have Animeatosis because I don't really associate everything with Anime. I am in my mid 20s as well and I don't think that there's something wrong with watching anime. Regardless of the age, it is good to have something that you consider as stress reliever. For me, watching animated films most especially anime, is one of the best way to relieve my stress.

Well, not anime only but cartoons in general. I think they are relaxing to watch because of their light topics or story line and some of them can even give you some nice insights about life presented in a humorous way. For anime, yes I still do, not an Otaku but i appreciate their art because there are some serious japanese animation that have pretty impressive background with lots of details.

I am old and I still watch anime. While working at Cedar Point I found this DVD with some anime movies on it. I think it's pretty cool. Every now and then I'll look at one of the movies. I like the big eyes on the characters.

Like everyone else, I grew up watching cartoons and animes as a kid. However, I grown to like Japanese anime well beyond my adolescent and now regards watching anime as my pastime in my adulthood. I don't think I am addicted to anime per se but simply like the alternate reality aspect of the storyline and characters. I find anime content to be original and innovative that sparks the imagination, which is why it is a hit with people, not only kids.
Since the Japanese culture emphasize a lot on perfection and beauty, it is no wonder the Japanese anime possesses high quality story and character designs amid appealing animation backdrops. I have foundations in drawing and story writing so watching anime as a pastime contributes to my sense of aesthetic design and story making similar to the Wachowski brothers, who wrote and directed the cult Matrix trilogy.
The Wachowski brothers drew and wrote comics for a living before till a grasp of storyboarding is achieved to aid in their directing. Watching animes is among their likes as well that offer insights to their story writing, which they stated that Matrix is inspired from animes.
Anime comes in different genres for kids, teenagers and adults. Hence, to me, watching anime in my adulthood is not inappropriate but a form of leisure that offer glimpses of other reality possibilities.
