yes love is like a chewing gum........it tastes sweet when it is experienced for first......then slowly when we continue it...the sweetness decreases .....and at one stage there is no taste in it...... thats why love is like a chewing gum according to me...... note- i dont have any experience about love and relationships so this thought could be wrong too....... happy mylotting

Well, maybe you are right.:) What a way to describe and compare love:) In some instances, love could be like a chocolate that the more you chew the more you want it. It is addictive. But I guess, that depends upon how you are going to plat that love. Here's one reality why your love is like a chewing gum.... http://authspot.com/short-stories/how-much-do-i-loved-thee/

An interesting comparison - probably true for a lot of people, but then, some lucky people stay in love all there lives.

Why 'like' a chewing gum? Friend it is more than a chewing gum, too sticky, initially there is sweetness but as you suck all the sweet ingredients, the piperment, it gets tasteless, good discussion,,, Thanks for sharing. Welcome always. Cheers. Professor

Don't wait until it's too late to tell someone how much you love and how much you care because when they are gone, no matter how loud you shout and cry, they won't hear you anymore.I loose whatever thing i love and now i am afraid to even love someone.

Love is a powerful energy. It can be enforced or decreased in different conditions. If it decreased, its like a chewing gum and If it enforced, its like a sweet factory which produces candies constantly. I suppose role of partners in enforcing of love is so important.

Before I got with my guy I would have said s@x was like chewing gum. But Neither is true when you are with the right person. My love for my guy keeps growing. So I would say false desire or a love that isn't true is like chewing gum. It fades because it wasn't suppose to last.

Hi abj163, My friend, I cannot agree with you that love is like chewing gum. I am an optimist when it come to love lasting. I will agree that in the beginning love is very sweet, sometimes too sweet, like chewing gum, but unlike chewing gum, loves flavor can last. It will however, take some work to keep it enjoyable. Have you ever noticed that while chewing gum, and as it loses it flavor,it becomes harder to chew and it ventually feels like as if you are chewing a flavorless piece of paper. I cannot think of love as eventually having such a dismal ending. To totally enjoy your chewing gum, you must chew it until all the flavor is gone. You throw that piece out and get a new piece. Love is not like that, when the flavor is leaving or is gone, partners can to something to reinstate the sweetness that was first there. There is always hope for lasting love.

Nope I don't think so my friend. Maybe in a relationship without the assurance of love..Like those who mistaken physical attraction to love. They thought it was love because they are happy at first but then as you said like the chewing gum, the taste if sweetness decreases when they notice that they can't accept flaws of their partners. Because love doesn't end., it really lives forever in our hearts. That is the true meaning of it, LOve never fades... because I've experienced it when I fall in love 15 years ago... love really changes as time goes by but my husband and I still fell that the love has grown deeper and much stronger of the passing years. :-)

For some reasons and some people, that would be a yes. But for me I don't think of that way. Love is something that is really common among us but rare to find its value and meaning. Love is something that you have to experience first before leaving any comments about it. For me, love, generally, is not selfish. It is respectful and trustworthy. Something you have when you lost everything around you, like when you think you have nothing but there are your love ones that care for you. You will think you just lost a little, because life is still good you have your people around you loving you. It is a serious thing okay? So don't compare it to a chewing gum. :P Happy posting and always have a good day my fellow mylotter!

I agree somewhat, though I wouldn't say love. I would say relationships is like a chewing gum. Since most relationships are that way. Until you find true love, sweetness will never decrease.
