"I want to write to get rich." Yeah, I used to think I could write very hard to earn lots of money, but it was not true. I cannot do such of the thing.
"I want to write heal myself." Well...Seriously speaking, I can't give myself a credit, I am not a happy person, I am broke, shallow, ignorance, so how can a doctor cure his patience while he is dying?
"I write to entertain myself." Nope, it can't be a cup of my tea, as it takes efforts, time, and determination to nurture a good article.
"I write to entertain the others." That's significant. A talent writer often write to amuse their readers. They are successful since then. However, I am not familiar to excite someone else. I'm rather boring.
"I write, so I am." Good! This is it!

Actually I made that up as a snarky comment to all the silly lines people come up with for why they write.
"My heart would explode if I didn't write" and corny lines like that.
I guess some writers are emotional. I'm not. I can write a very graphic scene of dismemberment one page and a touching reunion scene on the next.

I have to add-I write because my fans are waiting on the sequel.

Imagination is the most important ingredient in a novel. Einstein said it is greater than knowledge. He always thought outside the box. That was why people called him a genius. He, the famous physicist, of course was an imaginative person, but I would think he was creative. How to be a crative person? This is a question that I should ask myself all the time.

I want to write because I have always loved writing.
I don't know why, but that is just the way it has always been for me, for some reason. So why not try to use it for something, you know?

It's what I do best and what I love doing. I've been writing most of my life, but never got around to finishing anything until I completed a novel last year during National Novel Writing Month. I guess that pushed a button and made me realize that I really do love to write. It just took a while to figure out what kind of writing I wanted to do. Not articles!

Article writing is not a bad thing and it is good practice. It also forces you to learn how to research.
Lots-millions have written a novel. Writing a good one is a different matter. The nano (I forget the rest) is nothing but writing as fast as you can-not writing well. This is not to say anything negative about Catana. Even the best writer has to be edited.

I have a number of reasons why I want to write. Any way, here is the one reason which comes up on top of all other reasosns.
"I want to write because writing is the hobby I enjoy most since my jounger days"
And, now a days, I can make some earnings too, doing nothing else but just enjoying my favorite hobby.

I want to write because I want people to hear about my ideas, and enjoy them.
Expanding upon that: I love letting people know what I feel, and seeing whether or not they share those same opinions about things.
I love the fact that I am able to share the knowledge that I have aboue certain things with other people who might not have had that knowledge if they had not read my articles, books or poems.

"I write because the idea keeps banging on my head" and if I won't spell these things out, maybe I would go mad..hahaha!
Seriously, I write because I want to tell the world that I have this kind of story that need to be read by millions and also I write because I want to earn money so that I can have a European tour..hehe

There are so many reasons why I write. First of all, I write to generate extra income during my extra time. I'd rather spend this extra time productively than going going to the malls.
Secondly, I write because I want to share my knowledge to other people.
Third, I write because I want to unleash my inner feelings.

Although i am not the best of writers, I write to learn new things and increase my knowledge, it's not a bad idea after all since i am still in school, a Writer should have deep knowledge what's he writing about and i am happy i know a lot of stuff because of my reading excursions.

"I want to write because ideas keep running in my head until i type it down."
well, I certainly never thought of writing to earn in the first place. I just enjoyed writing stories and when others gave me good reviews it makes me happy and makes me want to write more. I guess, "I write because I am" as your last statement goes works as well too.
