As I have observed, there are so many people here in our country who are not able to eat a balance diet. There are even some who are not able to eat at least three times a day, some just eat once or twice in a day. There are also some who can eat at least 3 times in a day but they eat an unhealthy meal by just eating meat all day. I dont know why there are some who cant afford to eat a balance diet but maybe it has something to do with the economy and the prices of goods that only a few can afford. How about you? Can you afford to eat a balance diet in your country?

As in your country or others, there is some people can and some people can't.
For me, thanks to God, for now He give us a chance to have 3 times a day for meal. I said for now, maybe God will have another plan for us someday, who knows? :)

There are some people who can eat and those who cant eat a balanced diet. Its not the same cause prices of food are really expensive and there are those who really cant afford them. There are some who are able to eat meat once in a blue moon and other things like that.
We are all blessed that we are able to eat the right kind of food.

You see situation is same in most of the countries, including India, where I live. There are many, who are below poverty line and cannot afford to have a meal more than once a day. We are lucky, me and my better half are working and we can afford to take balanced diet.
What about you?

I will consider myself still lucky because I can afford to eat a balanced diet with full of nutrients in it. I am able to eat 3 times a day for myself and for my family but I am on a diet and I am the one who regulated it though. After gaining some weight, I try to eat now twice a day and just eat very less for some in-between meal snacks. the price of the commodities here are still high because of the value added tax. Prices of the BASIC COMMODITIES here in the Philippines are said to be VAT exempt but then it is still high because of the handling and delivering fees that are not VAT exempted. It is really making me sad for some people who cannot have a balanced meal. The government should really look on to these issues.

I am also keeping my fingers crossed with that. That is a major problem he should immediately resolve. How can anyone have a better education or go to school if your stomach is empty.

maybe you think is too easy. you know in society ,a lot of people can not find a job to afford the daily life , it is more crucial than you can imagine , and even worse ,the price of food is growing , so ,you can imagine ,when a people without a job ,facing the growing price ,or a family to support , or even a house loan to pay back ,so what they can do ,they only reduce what you can reduce to maintain the daily
for me ,now it is no problem ,but if i lose my job(i have a house loan),maybe i will also face these problems ,but not as worse as you said...

This is a very relevant question.I begin to doubt as to how many people in any country whether in the East or the West are aware of the concept of balanced diet. In fact what is balanced diet? Does it not vary from person to person depending upon his health and age? Is there a standard balanced diet for one and all in this world and for all regions. We cannot imagine such a diet. Therefore the alternative appears to be that each individual in all places should be made health conscious. Offcourse the govt and philonthraphic organisations are doing social services everwhere. If they take the task of making every one health conscious it will be well and good. It is not only diet but also physical exercise coupled with mental health that contribute to the happiness of individual. The fact also remains that though many people are aware of the concept of balanced diet still they not be able to take balanced diet for reasons more than one....financial environment family conditions etc.All said and done the concept of balanced diet is very laudibale

I always think of the go food group, glow food group and grow food group when I talk about balance diet. Though it varies according to age and need. I always think that people should eat a balanced diet no matter what their condition is but they always have consider if they can afford it or not.

Hello. p3ks626. I live in Spain, and healthy food is really cheap here. I went to the market this morning with my friend, and we bought all our fruit and vegetables for the week for a very cheap price. Chicken and fish are also a good price here, as well as eggs, so yes, we can afford to eat healthily. I feel for people who can't.

Yes I can but not everyday. In some , price is the reason. Workers like working parents are less compensated which make them difficult to manage the food pyramid. Others are because of their lifestyle. I make sure that my family eats nutritious food five times a week. I sometimes give them what they want in two days, sort of free day.
What helps us to eat balance are the vegetables and fruits around our house. I don't need often to buy vegetables and fruits.

many people in our country are not able to have a balanced diet
it is because of the government
in INDIA we produce food more than needed
but the people dont have enough money to buy it
the country does not bother about people here
the politics in INDIA is the worst
hopeful it will change in the future

Its the same thing here in our country. I also think the government has something to do with it cause they say something about taxes. But if the taxes are going to the place where it suppose to go then I guess more people will be able to afford food here in our country.

Really meaningful discussion,
we in India definitely cannot have dallanced diet within the financial resources available with common man, because there is a large gap between the producer and retailer.Though major Business houses have entered as retail players for vegetable , fruits and grocery...........but unfortunately
1.The prices are almost the same as in the market
2.Quality of foodstuffs,Fresh As well as processed is not taken care of
due to which the essence of opening these stores is lost
there should be stores where freshly harvested vegetables and fruits are available at reasonably affordable rates.Secondly only fresh harvested fruits and vegetables can provide good amount of nutrition, storage results in loss of many essential nutrients from Vegetables and fruits

There are also a lot of people who are financially able and they can eat a balanced diet. But this group of people are very few. They are a very population here in our country. Most of the people here are not able to eat a balance meal cause prices of food are really expensive.

You have started a meaning discussion here. To be honest, I can't afford to eat a balanced diet in my country.
Although there are lots of people who think we can keep healthy with a balanced diet. However, in fact, there are lots of people who have no enough money to afford a balanced diet everyday. There are lots of poor ones that even continue their day life. For them, eating their fill may be a luxury, not to mention a balanced diet.

Same situation here in the Philippines. More people cant afford to eat a balance diet. Those who can afford to eat a balance diet are those who has high paying jobs and those that dont can only eat those food that are affordable to them and its not the same way as a balanced diet. I think it would have been so much better if all are able to afford the same kind of food.
