Hello Lotters, I know the news is about telling the truth and that. although, despite rumors I've been hearing about fabricated or exaggerated news, i still watch them. but that doesn't mean it's amusing, unless it's a good news. Almost every hates, some are shocking or don't give a damn. but for one thing, they Hate it. So do I. I am so fed up with bad news, that's why i rarely watch television. but of course, the Media is sure happy seeing a Bad situation for them to report to. Yeah, I know, to inform the people, but it's just too much. Does any one has this kind of feeling?

Yes the truth hurts LetranKnight. There is so much one can take. Beyond that I would just leave too.

I also hate bad news. But we have to face reality, may it be bad or good. From bad news, we can learned something beneficial so that bad things wont happen again. It can give us lesson to learned in life. In every bad situation, good things can happen. For example there is a robbery, when someone call for help then people will help the victim together. So we should not take bad news as bad as always.

The media is almost always attempting to show bad news because I suppose they see it as a rating booster which I am not so sure about! I am sick and tired of reading and seeing top news to be negative ones! I don’t understand the focus on people’s distress. Reporters will ask distraught people how they feel just after their house has burnt down or they have just lost a loved one. I am not too sure what kind of answer they expect to hear...

SOME media reporters become sensationalists when reporting. That's what i hate about them. I mean yeah just tell the truth - no more, no less. Don't be exaggerated. The people will just panic if they will continue this kind of reporting. I believe media greatly affects the peoples' feelings. Personally, I've been depressed because of the news about this hostage taking thingy this morning. but thank God, it was finally over.

Same here, they should change the name of their program to bad news instead of news. Most of the things they report are bad news. Anyway I just saw another terrible news today and it really ruined my day.

As a reader,we should know how to criticize the news. We should be wise in reading things. We should not believe in everything we see and we read, we should examine it first through other media. You can see them in video, newspaper and even internet. Sometimes, I don't believe with the media, because everything is being exaggerated. But you must know a good source of information that will air things through good or bad.

but it seems these kinds of news are what the public yearns for, look at media (paper/broadcasting - especially broadcasting - 90% of their news are "bad" depressing news, they rarely include good news often, only one segment and it on the ending part, why? I don't know for sure..if people likes hearing it, or the media loves sensationalizing it..

hi letran what I hate is seeing newspeople stick a microphone in front of a distraught lady and ask."How did you feel when the gunmen broke into your home, robbed you, and shot your husband?" Say what? what the hell is that for, we people do not w ant to see a woman whose been through hell being quizzed like that. Sure news sells papers but don't these people have have feeling at all to ask stupid questions of people who are in shock already? I hate bad news too and specially when they try to make people who have lost hope or their home or a loved one spill their guts just for some perverts who get off on other people's misery. If I was in a crisis and some news reporter stuck a speaker in my face to get all the juicy details, I would bash him or her with my quad cane. I just do not think that is appropriate at all.

well, if there's no bad news, people won't appreciate good news. It's not like I like bad news, but it just life and reality, and it's never easy. Judging the news by yourself rather than just let media drive your sight.

Me, too. I just don't want to hear bad/criminal news either on TV or from people around me. I know those bad things are happening in real life, and maybe around me, I just don't want to hear it. I want to live in my own make believe world.

In my opinion it is what the media believes sell and or grabs attention if so many people did not feed into such things they would not be portraying them so highly. I am with you on not watching so much TV as personally when I watch the news too repetitively it depresses me more.

Well., I think everybody does feel the same way.., I don't know anyone who would love to hear any kind of bad news.., Or yearns to hear one.., It would be unusual! But we cannot prevent things from happening and it happens for a reason.., all we have to do is face it as mature as we can.., Since that's how life is supposed to be..=)
