Or do you think should uniform be made compulsory in colleges...and another question..I think most of schools have made uniforms necessary but what do you think why school uniform is necessary..? By making uniform compulsory I think we are keeping away the children from wearing colorful and nice looking dresses...It will also make children's personality impressive....what do you think?

Hello Crazy_poster,
No! College students should not have uniforms. They are there to be creative and part of that creativity is there clothing. It is there time to see how other people dress when they are older from teachers to there classmates from USA to other countries. This is there time to explore and undertand nature and humans and thinking brain and philophies.
Thanks and have a great day!
Sincerely Unique16

the idea of having uniform for college student is great but i think a lot will disagree to that idea because since you are in preschool till high school a student is wearing uniform and college is the only level that one can show what is he or she is capable to show ..think so ,^^

No way! College students should NOT wear uniforms.
I think that K-12 should have uniforms because they need that stability and unity, but I don't think that colleges should because most college students have such crazy lives that they wouldn't be able to do that.
Most college students have to work and go to school and it is almost impossible for them to have to change clothes and get to class.
I go to a commuter school, and many students work and go to school.
If it were a case were everyone lived and worked on campus, I could see people wearing uniforms, but in the State of California, that is not the case for the majority of the colleges here.

I think there's nothing wrong in wearing school uniform in college. I am studying in San Beda College Alabang and we are required to wear school uniform... you know it helps to save money. how? you don't need to buy lots of casual clothes to wear everyday... plus, i like our school uniform.. it's comfortable to wear..

That is a pretty good question, for the whole time, I have no idea why do we need to wear uniform while we were in schools. I just don't get it. Do we have to spend the extra money just for that clothes requested by the school board?

When I was in college, we had a uniform. All colleges inside our university had uniforms.
It's not because they want to hinder the students from expressing themselves but to enforce conformity and equality.
Having everyone wear uniforms would hinder rich students from showing off their wealth by wearing fancy clothes, and the poor wouldn't have to be pressured into buying expensive clothes just so they could mingle with the rich.
Also having uniforms would prevent theft. People wearing expensive jewelry, clothes and make-up might stir up a great jealousy that would result to thievery

so is this any kind of personality improvement training, i don't think that would be a good idea, it will only degrade their personality and they will not have the feel of going to school, uniform tell them what they are and what they are wearing and going to school.

I think we should wear uniform in University. Because in my university there is no uniform, the people are wearing differently in a way some are look like: they are in their house just getting up from the bed; their parents ask them to buy something; they are going to the party; And they look like not a student.
College students should be look presentable, tidy. Because of uniform, everybody are just the same level, no rich, no poor because you are wearing the same clothes. Unlike none, you are pressure about what will be the next clothes you are wearing. You can also be discriminated because of what you are wearing. It seems you can't afford to buy expensive, and branded clothes. And this is the reality.

I think that making college students to wear uniforms Is a wise decision from college management. Since making them to wear uniforms will make a college look like a disciplinary one. I think it is not right to make them wear uniforms like school it will cut their freedom by half. I think Uniform is a way to bind your freedom. We have spent 12yrs wearing disastrous uniform in school and i hate wearing it in college also.

...personally, i love it when there is no uniform required specially in universities and colleges..however, requiring a uniform is necessary maybe due to some policies and other school compliance..im not sure though..you are right, it will keep away students from wearing colorful and nice looking dresses and it will also prohibit them from wearing inappropriate clothing in school vicinity..

I think it is best for college students to have uniform in school. This will prevent those immoral looking outfit inside the school. It also looks neat although wearing the same clothes everyday is tiring, this will actually save students from the trouble of choosing which clothes to choose for the day.

I have always found uniforms pretty ridiculous, and a way to cut kid's freedom. People who go to college are adults, so nobody has the right to tell them how to dress to go to school, in my opinion.
People who wore uniforms always say that it's confortable because they don't need to think what to wear or to buy clothes, but I think it's very sad not learning to choose your clothes until you're an adult, and if you have to wear uniform in university, even later.

I think wearing uniform is for formality sake.., and for identity as well.., Students get identified that they are a student of a certain school., For children.., It will be great if the schools can modify their school uniforms to look a bit colorful and different each school day of the week.., and for college students.. I think the uniforms depend on what course are they taking up.., for instance.., those medical courses are most of the times.., in white.., and so on..,=)

The kids have to grow up too. Dispense with the uniforms unless the students are on a team. I knew I wanted to find my interests and my character in college. I did not want to remind myself of what everyone wanted me to be. I dared to be different or I stayed simple. However, I made the decision and that too included my clothes.
