I wish to address this question of course to our friends who are non believers. We all know that there are also different sectors of religion in this World, but are hesitant about the existence of God...because of difficulties in Life,un- ending Problems, hunger unable to wait for the Power of God...i am just curious, share some thoughts so we believers understand your reason. Thanks!

I'm not an atheist because of difficulties or un-ending problems, I'm an atheist because I can use logic and common sense.
1. There is no undeniable proof that any religion is right.
2. There are thousands of religions practiced today, and plenty more from the past that have been abandoned. Within all these religions, people do or did have the same faith as you. They feel their god(s) in their heart just like you, they witness miracles, and they are rewarded and punished by their god(s). There is no proof for any of these religions, yet if any one of them is right, all the others are wrong (and the numbers are not in your favor that you picked the correct one.) It is therefore rational to not follow any religion.
3. It is absurd to think that, in a universe so incredibly vast, there is a creator who cares at all what humans do. We are one very tiny species on a very tiny planet orbiting a very plain star. And yet we are supposed to believe that there is some god(s) who knows and cares about every little thing that we do. What was this creator doing before humans evolved? It is an extremely outdated notion that humans are so important. It may have made more sense to believe in a god when humans still thought the earth was flat and the sun orbited around it, but it does not make sense anymore.
4. It is not necessary to believe in god anymore. In the past, natural events - the weather, earthquakes, celestial bodies, lightening, how life starts, etc - were attributed to gods because people didn't know any better. Today, we do, and turning to the supernatural to explain the natural rejects modern science.
There are plenty more reasons. If you for some reason can refute what I have already explained, let me know, and I'll continue.

Ivansama, Exactly how old does the Bible say the earth is and where can I find that in the scriptures? I don't remember ever reading anything about the age of the earth.

True. Science even says the earth is not greated as described in the bible. You don't need more evidence than that. But of course everyone is stubborn. With those people you even need more proof if you have scientifically proven that a blue balloon is blue.

Yes I can give you a few reasons but don't get mad at me for just giving my opinion, deal?
- Majority of events in the bible do not happen in today's life.
- Majority of events in the bible are unlikely to have happened.
- If God exists then why are there wars? God is all pro-love right? In the bible he wasn't always pro-love so it is all contradicting, pointing towards no influence from above.( with pro-love I mean peace, helping each other out... having respect... etc)
- If we have to love our fellow men and women then why is there so much racism and discrimination against certain 'kinds' of people?
- Nobody has ever presented convincing evidence that God has ever showed up let alone Maria or which ever biblical character, let alone the appearing on earth of any of them.
- If God has created the world then why has science shown convincing proof that the earth and all that lives and has lived on it has been created in a different way than described in the bible?
The thing is christians mostly fail to answer those questions properly as they recite parts of the bible. Which does not make sense as non-believers always say that what is in the bible is not true, so why recite from a book we don't find credible? That's the same like reciting a scientist which has been proven wrong and find him credible.
Or they get mad, stubborn or fail to answer. So I am curious what you guys will do with my opinion. As long as you don't rate me negatively, I respect your opinion to high degrees.

God exists. I know it. ^^ To answer your question, who would I believe if I don't believe in God? I believe in KARMA, the law of universe. What goes around comes around.
I believe in that. So, don't ever hesitate about the truth of that law. Sooner or later that will come.. ^^

I don't believe in karma. I do believe that if someone does bad things then bad things will most likely happen to them but that is not always the case. Someone can indeed get away with a crime. If someone committed a crime got away with it and then changed for the better where they don't do any more new crime do they deserve to be punished?

@Melmabb : Fate or Faith? I don't believe in fate. I think we create our fate by ourselves. Like what I said, what goes around comes around. The bad things that I receive now is the result for the bad things that I did in my past.
Faith is what we believe. I have faith in Karma. Karma means action. So, we have bad karma and good karma. But most people indicate karma is a bad thing.
So, if you ask me to choose, I would choose faith to fate. We can change our fate. Our fate is in our hands. You do good things, you receive good things. You do bad things, you receive bad things. ^^
@spiderlizard22 : Hi there. In that case, not public that will punish him, but he will punish his own self. I mean, it is how things work. You sow bananas, you will get bananas, you will never get apples. Nah, if he changed to be better and don't do more crime. Then it is good on him. It means he doesn't sow more bad things. He will just got the result of the first bad things that he sow.
When he changes to become someone better, things also will go that way. We sow first. But when we sow the good things, the bad things reap. We got the result of the bad things we did in the past while we are doing good things.
People sometimes misunderstand about this. People mostly question,"Why do I still get the bad things though I have do a lot of good things recently?"
Well, you must be happy for it. Because your bad things reap first, and leave the good things behind. Then the bad fruits will decrease slowly. Just don't sow more bad seeds anymore.
It's how nature works. What goes around comes around. ^^ We all are responsible for the things we do. We can never get away from that. Just wait and see, and put this on mind. You do good things you receive good things and vice versa.
Good luck!

melmabb,
According to my knowledge when we born in this world as a human being,
every one should accept there is supernatural power in this world.
We came to know through only different way of action, reaction. When
god is existence, the supernatural power also there in this way each
and every human being should accept believe in god each and every action.

No, there are thousands of religions out there. Judaism, Sikhism, Buddhism, Jainism, Rastarfari, Baha'i, Shinto, Taoism, Confucianism, Cheondoism, Wicca, Gnosticism, and many, many more. And, most of these religions has individual sects that believe slightly different things and follow different guidelines.
If you have never heard of these religions, how can you be certain yours is right and theirs is wrong? That's a pretty crazy assumption.

What convinced you that god exist? If god is the creator where did god come from? If god has no origin then why should the universe have an origin? Where did god get the information to create things? How does god know how to make things? In order for something to effect reality then it has to be physical. Is god physical?

In your comment we do not feel the same....anyway Live life and be a blessing always to others...Keep discussing. Thanks!

I am an agnostic. I don´t think I am able to understand the trascendentl so it would have to be pridse if I gave a lecture on beliefs or reasons for or against. What I do think though is that, if there is some sort of higher power (no matter what that is) it has nothing to do with small human things. I have seen believers ask God to give them money.
We can deal with a lot of the problems that life has is we respect each other and use the power of love instead of hating anyone who is not the same as we are. And there are some things we just have to accept. The christian faith has a sentence for that: "Thy will be done".
As I said, I don´t feel I can understand this. But I do know that there is a billion people starving right now. I think that we can do something about that. Check a site sponsored by the UN. It´s www.freerice.com There even us, agnostics and non believers, can find a way to worshipthrough human kindness.

You are wrong, melmabb. Atheists do not believe there is a God. It´s a no God idea. Agnostics pass. They feel that the concept of God is too big to grasp. They don´t dispise the idea, they accept that it is not understandable.
I cannot believe in something that I am not capable of knowing or understanding. That is the idea.
I do respect the believers though, whatever their religion, as long as they will not cause me problems.

I dont believe in God, i cant believe in something that i hav never seen. The bible is wriiten by people and not by god. The things said in the bible are to tranforme the mind of those that believe, thus believing in God and trying to make people better i guess.
How can we believe in God when they say that he created Adam and Eve, and tehy created us but scientists say that we decend from monkeys. And that makes more sense that 2 random people being made on earth and all those stories told about them.
I also dont belive the fact the Virgin Mary got pregnant and was a virgin. Its like if their suposed to be like real humans then why the heck are they saying something impossible.

Isn't, "I also dont belive the fact the Virgin Mary got pregnant and was a virgin," a contradiction? The dictionary says a fact is an actual happening, a truth. If the story of the Virgin Mary is true, as you have said, how can you say you don't believe it?

Believers rely on FAITH and Faith means believing on something that have never been seen,Humans as we all call ourselves tends to believe on different things..Like in you case you don't then i respect that and it doesn't mean that when you and me are not the same, one is superior then the other,Regarding Virgin Mary you should have raised that in your discussions i think there are lots of intelligent members who will comment on that....When Humans don't understand things or lack visions on it, they always say the word IMPOSSIBLE,LIKE WHEN THE CONCEPT OF THE PLANE AND THE SHIP WAS PRESENTED CENTURIES AGO.they negatively commented on the concept and said the word Stupid..HOw can a steel float on Water and on air...?etc..but that is another thing to discuss, it's different from Religion. Thanks!

Some people just don't believe in anything. You don't HAVE to believe in a god.
There are many reasons why some people don't. I think the person above listed some. It's actually not about problems or struggles in life. Most people I know are non-believers, and it doesn't have anything to do with those things. It's just a lot of things about religion seem physically possible.. And for most people they need proof that there is a God to know there is one there.

Believers believe that there is God Why? because they felt it in their Hearts,as Faith is used...My boss is a non-believer and i am a believer, he always insist on me that there is no God, but in my part i said there is, because it is Humans decision, we cannot control Humans decisions,Changes comes when things are experience in this Life?Believers maybe non-believers, or non-believers will be Believers...Yes Humans need Proof, explanations and Facts...it is all the decisions that made the walls of Understanding of the other side, Let's break down the Walls and let's communicate, discuss, argue in every beliefs and at the end of the Day, we respect each others views, and Keep what we believe in,consequences will do their part in that decisions.Thanks.

I don't believe in God because I have no reason to do it. If you can believe in something as a God, why don't you believe in Zeus, were the Greeks right?
Man created God, then God created Man
I believe in myself, but I must admit that I love reading about mythology.

IF you LOve Mythology then you Love Myths. That is why you don't believe in God, you think God is just a Myth, we Believers respect what you believe...GOD CREATED THE EARTH AND GOD CREATED MAN AND MAN CREATED THE WORLD,AND CREATED DIFFERENT GOD ,THE WORLD NOW IS FULL OF CONFLICTS....THANKS!KEEP DISCUSSING THINGS HERE....

This came aout to be a great post!
Why don;t I believe in god? For the same reasons I don't believe in Santa or the Tooth fairy. They're made up.
Humans made up gods to explain things they couldn't understand: lightning, sickness, natural disasters, etc. The religion you believe is most likely the religion of your family and friends. Think about this, you're a US born christian right now... what if you were born in Pakistan?? do you really think you would be a christian and believe in a christian god??? Chances are you would believe in another god and believe he is the only true savior. So geography comes to be important in defining religions.
I don't get how people admire a god that creates man, then wipes them all out with a great big flood (notice that he spared the animals, a god that commands armies to kill entire towns and rape women. A god that specifically told Moses how to obtain, trade and punish slaves.
You say god is omniscient, omnipotent, all powerful. This is a logical fallacy, if he is omniscient, that means he knows the past, present and future. This would prevent god from changing his mind at any given time. It means he has nothing to do, just sit around and watch things happen. So where's your free will if god has planned and knows every decision you make before hand, why pray??
Those are just some of the reasons I don't believe in any god...
"Every religion thinks they believe in the one true god... therefore, they are all wrong."

of course there is a god.
no person can create storms, give new life to a human, create the sun, stop a sunami,
produce natural milk, stop a volcano, etc.
NO PERSON can do all these things by himself ,INDEED THERE IS GOD.

1. Storm is created by the combination of hot air and cold air. There is no evidence that anything but the sun heats up the air and even that might be wrong because I am not going to look up what makes hot air hot and cold air cold because it is a sure thing god has no bloody thing to do with it.
2. New life is created by a sperm cell and a cell of the woman growing and growing. Again nothing to do with God. Science say humans came to existance through evolution which makes sense. Why are Asians oftentimes milk intolerant, through evolution. It's not like God found it interesting to just annoy Asians. Also people say it is a punishment of God that we speak thousands of languages in the world. Also nonsense. If you want to communicate you start a language which evolves, new words come into existance old words aren't used anymore. All groups of people in the world did that millions of years ago, that's why language were very different for a long time. Now that we can travel language get more and more similar, everything has nothing to do with god.
3 The sun is created through a chemical process.
4. The tsunami has been stopped by the fact that the amount of force deteroriates over time, again nothing to do with God.
5. natural milk is produced by a chemical and natural process in the body of the woman, converting blood into milk... god is not involved.
6. Volcano is stopped and started by a natural process... or are you going to tell me that god wants to kill people through volcanoes?

but are hesitant about the existence of God...because of difficulties in Life,un- ending Problems, hunger unable to wait for the Power of God
I'm not the least bit "hesitant" about the existence of God..I simply no longer believe and have no reason to. Difficulties in life, trials and sorrows etc etc are NECESSARY in our lives and have nothing to do with any god or lack there of IMO...its all part of life and growth...I dont believe in god/satan, heaven/hell etc and for me thats whats normal, logical and right. I live a healthy, happy, peaceful and loving life WITHOUT religion, dogma etc so why mess with it ya know.
