i too am reading for pleasure like you. i enjoy nora roberts as well, although i think i've forgotten about vision in white. i can't seem to remember if i've read that or not, though probably not. but although i'm reading for pleasure, there are only specific genres that interest me and that i enjoy. they are romance and action. as long as those two are in, it's usually a shoo-in for me, although i read the synopsis at the back and then decide. the book i'm currently reading is hostage to pleasure by nalini singh. it is more a paranormal genre with romance and action as well, with half leopards and half people, and all if you know what i mean. before that, i was reading a book 'vampires, interrupted' by lynsay sands and as you can gather from the title, it has vampires involved although not the gory type. it's more romance and some mystery. recently, i've started to write about the books i've enjoyed tremendously on a blog so that i can refer to it and re-read it in the future. good day http://sminut13.blogspot.com

I am reading Michael Connelley's "The Black Ice." It's the second in the long-running series of mystery novels featuring Harry Bosch, an LAPD homicide detective. I finished the first book in the series, "The Black Echo," not too long ago and enjoyed it immensely. Both books were written in the early 90s, and the series is still going strong. The third book in the series is also in the omnibus edition of three novels I am reading. When I finish the present book, I'll go back to reading some more stories in a old "Best American Short Stories" collection that I'd bought a long time ago. I like most of the stories that I've read so far, and find the stories make a good change of pace from long-form fiction.

Currently, slowly reading Fermat's Last Theorem by Simon Singh. For pleasure instead of school which is quite strange - I hardly ever read educational books; usually stick to fiction and fantasy. It's quite interesting though, so long as I don't try to finish it in a day.

Am currently reading Motion to Suppress by O'Shaughnessy. I just love legal thrillers and mystery novels. I've just started but I like the first few chapters so I think I will read this to the finish.

I recently entered a contest on an author's website. The prize to receive an advance reading copy (ARC) of their new yet-to-be-released novel. Soon after I entered I was informed that I was one of the 100 chosen to read and review this novel (review it and put the review in as many places as possible). Since I knew this book was coming I started reading quick reads. I didn't want to get caught in the middle of a novel just to stop and start reading the ARC. So I read a couple of YA novels which I thoroughly enjoyed and actually did reviews on them too. I received the ARC in the mail yesterday. I have read this author before but this is a different genre of her's, one I don't much care for and was a little worried about it. I am not into the werewolves and vampires scene. However, I have read the first chapter and am already hooked. This author is not only known for her good writing but her sense of humour. I am glad there is quite a bit of humour in the book to keep me interested. This novels is "When Blood Calls" by J.K. Beck. This is her first attempt at this genre and has two more coming out soon. I will post the link to my review when I have finished it. They asked that we have the review done by September 9th but since the ARCs took a little longer to get to Canadians, that's probably not going to happen for us. It's a 388 page paperback, though not tiny print. I might be able to read it faster than I originally thought.

I am currently reading Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. I love this book so much! It is about a lady from the present who gets transported through time to Scotland in 1743. She goes through all sorts of trials and tribulations. It is romantic and exciting and unpredictable. This is why I love it the most. You think one thing is going to happen, but then something you didn't even think about happens. The book is huge, but wonderful.

I am reading the Vampire Academy series. Why? Because even though my children both have college degrees, discussing anything outside of vampire movies, books, or cooking and boating, seems to be off limits. They aren't dumb; they just can't be bothered discussing serious subjects 'because people get angry'. Why can't people discuss serious issues of today without anger? Discussing and getting angry are two entirely different things. I've always felt adults discuss; children (no matter the age) get mad, stop talking or start screaming and go home. Guess I'm waiting for them to grow up. But, at the same time, I resent reading and watching foolish fiction just to have a conversation of any kind with other adults - even my children.

This past weekend I bought a whole shopping bag full of Classic books from the used bookstore. I bought The Life of Pi, Robinson Crusoe, Lord of the Flies, and many others. I have read most of these way back when in school, (or at least I was suppose to read them in school) however I wanted to re-read these now as an adult.

I'm always reading a few books at a time, as I read and write book reviews for a website, as well as post to several money-making writing sites. Right now I mostly prefer reading books written by authors I know online and off, most self-published, so I feel like I'm supporting their writing efforts, while enJOYing their books, too. Currently reading: Public Lies by Brenda Youngerman, ChristmaSin' by Ed Williams, and Write Ways to Win Writing Contests by John Howard Reid.

I'm currently not reading but my daughter is reading Vision in White by Nora Roberts as well. She has her very own library of all kinds of books and scaryily she has either read them or is reading them. She can spend all day in a book and finish it in like a couple hours and go right to the next one. She is an amazing reader.

I just finished reading The Catcher in the Rye by JD Salinger. It has been quite a while since I've been able to read for pleasure, but I was finally able to pick this one up and was really pleased with it. If you haven't read it, I would recommend it, although be warned that it does have some profanity.

Do you believe that I am now reading Harry Potter and The Secret Chamber for the second time. I have read all the Harry Potter series, and I am now re-reading them from number one. I got to number two, now. Also, on my bed, a book about vampires by Heather Graham called Deep Midnight. I also read this book before. I love reading, mostly for fun, so I opted for fictions. Still I learned about other cultures through reading.

I'm currently reading the Lost Symbol by Dan Brown for the nth time. I really love books of Dan Brown and Anne Rice as they present deep and philosophical concepts coupled with facts. I enjoy thinking about each line and looking for their deeper meaning and how they contribute to the wholeness of the book. After reading the Lost Symbol, I think I'll read another Anne Rice book.
