Which of these do you think is more humane?DEATH PENALTY/LIFETIME IMPRISONMENT?

During my high school life, we've been discussing this topic for several times for it is interesting. All of us have different points of view on this topic. For me, I prefer death penalty than lifetime imprisonment. WHY? Death Penalty for me is more humane for you'll experience pain "ALL AT ONCE", meaning, it's not as painful compared to Lifetime Imprisonment. It is like KILLING YOU AT ONCE. Lifetime Imprisonment, on the other side, seems to be more complicated. Yes, you're still alive literally, but EMOTIONALLY AND SPIRITUALLY you're already dead. LIFETIME = FOREVER. You're imprisoned FOREVER. It is more painful for it kills you slowly and hardly. They say that in lifetime imprisonment, you'll have the time to realize all your mistakes. Yes, it's true. But still, no matter what you say, you'll be in jail forever until your last breath. SO WHAT ABOUT YOU? WHAT'S YOUR PERCEPTION about this thing?
