Do you feel you get enough fiber?

Do you eat plenty of fruits and vegetables, beans and whole grains or do you think you could use some improvement in that area? Is there a reason you are not getting enough fiber? If you are getting enough fiber what's your secret?

When Ieat a fiber bar in addition to eating fruits and vegetables than yes I believe I had enough fiber for the day. However, that isn't always the case, so there are times when I feel I didn't get my days worth. The good news though is that a lot of food that we have in our house has added fiber, or healthy food to begin with. Fiber is good for you, but some of the side effects don't make me feel all to well. At least I drink a lot of water when I can't get my fiber. Those fiber one bars are pretty tasty though, and have a bit of your day's worth.

i eat green leafy vegetable, sweet potatoes.. other root crops... oats... fruits... especially oranges... its high fiber!!! ull know if u have enough fi ber.. if your stool floats in the water then thats got to have high fiber... if it doesnt then its protein full eheh

Some days are better than others, but I do pretty well getting enough fiber. That said, I always think that I can use more fiber in my diet. Fiber is excellent on so many levels. It basically gives your digestive system a workout. It also helps you to feel full faster, thus helping to reduce calorie intake.
My secret to getting enough fiber is simply to make the right choices. Whole grain bread v. bleached flour, brown rice v. white rice, whole fruit v. fruit juice. I also add flax seeds to lots of things that I eat on a regular basis. They are great to sprinkle on salad, scramble into eggs, add to smoothies, etc. One of my favorite things is to use one slice of Ezekiel bread with my homemade almond butter, flax seeds, raw honey, and cinnamon.

I try to eat fruits and veggies and get enough whole grains, but I am sure I fall far short of the daily requirement. I also take fiber pills. I take one with each meal (when I remember). My husband had colon problems and it really scares me now. So, I try to take care of my colon. It is very important!
