So I was laying out in the sun and I hear the icecream truck music! It has been what seems a hundred years since I have seen one of those. I grabbed up my towel and ran to the side of the house...just to see....was it really an icecream truck? It was! I almost ran in to grab some money to buy one of those strawberry shortcake things that I used to get when I was a kid...lol..I knew a real icecream truck would have to have them on there. So when was the last time you saw and icecream truck? Have you ever seen one?

sUCH WILLPOWER U HAVE, LOL. tHERE is one here in town. I hear the music every once in awhile but it doesn't come by here regularly. Wish it would come by when Ryan's here sometime. He'd get a kick out of that. The first time we ordered a pizza to be deliverd here when he was little he thought that was way cool, lol.

Ours plays silly music and appears in the dark during the winter-time! It's true! I was quite pleased when I saw it, actually because I only thought they appeared at seaside resorts like Blackpool (where I used to live of course) but I haven't bought anything from this van..yet!

Yes, ice-cream men (in their vans) are year round in this country. I suppose they want to make as much money as possible. Doesn't appeal to me having an ice-cream when it's cold and frosty though. I'm not that desperate for a sugary fix lol.

Hello Jen. How are you ? I am an icecream addict in some ways. Not an icecream truck, but a small icecream golfcart runs along the road in front of my house almost every day during the cummer time. When the music comes on, all the kids run out not to miss the opportunity. I would too once in a while, because the icecream seller the flavor I am addicted to - chocolate icecream !
Have a nice day !

Hi greenline...I'm great...thanks. I hope you are doing well too.
That icecream golfcart sounds great! I bet it is very popular..especially with it's precious load..lol...chocolate is one of my favorites too. I have no problem running out with the kids if there is chocolate involved. Thanks for the response and take care.

Oh my. I wish I had an ice cream truck drive by my house! The only times I've seen an ice cream truck is at my local park and in New York City. I sure do love ice cream in summer!

We have an ice cream truck (or should I say van?) that comes around every so often. There are some weeks when it seems like I hear them come around every night, and than there are weeks where I don't notice them at all. I think it's pretty amusing when you hear them playing Jingle Bells in the middle of summer, or even before summer. I never purchased from an ice cream truck as a kid, only once. As a kid though, hearing the ice cream truck was a nice surprise. Now, all I need to do is open the freezer and grab a carton.

lol...there is always the feezer. It has been forever since I saw an icecream truck/van. I used to wait for one when I was a kid. After playing outside all day with my friends and the perfect ending would be to hear that silly music and run inside to grab enough change to get an icecream..awesome. Thanks for the response.

for a while it seemed those darn things were up and down the street all DAY, but I have to admit, since the economy has gotten a bit bad, the ice cream trucks have also gone away - we would hear 3 DIFFERENT tunes on some weekend days, and often 2 during the week - starting from when school got out, but I think I haven't heard one in weeks...

Hello Jen,
It seems as though they are making a comeback. I remember as a kid, visiting my Grandmother in the city when "Mr. Softy" would come to the street corner. My father can recall, to this day, my overly hyper cousin who would be playing outside when she heard 'Mr. Softy's' music. She slammed the door opened yelling for her mom to give her change for a cone. What a trip!!
I just heard and ice cream truck yesterday. I also see them once in a while right in my own neighborhood. I think it's cute and nostalgic.

I might have been the overly hyper girl slamming through the door when I was little. My grandparents just met me at the door when they would hear the music and give me some change..lol...Thanks for responding. It is nostalgic seeing one again after so long.

I saw an ice cream truck last week. Unfortunately I didn't have any cash at the time. The good tasting ice creams can be expensive. They sell a certain ice cream for three dollars. But it is cheaper then buying it at some ice cream shops.

Really? That's awesome! I haven't seen one in forever. I don't know what kind of prices they have now...I'm sure they are a vistemm of inflation too....I guess they would be cheaper than a shop..plus delivered! Good deal. Thanks for the response.

June or July, it was a big surprize because I had never seen one in my former home town before. They were trying a new route out to see if it would pay. I like the vanilla ice cream bars or the stuff on a stick.

I used to hear what I thought was one up here where I am living right now. Last summer we had one come around down at my daughter's. Haven't seen it around down there this Summer. That is odd. I hadn't paid attention until I read your post just now. They used to be really popular.

The last one that I saw would have been last summer, around six months ago. They are always around in the summer time here. My kids used top nag us like crazy to get one when they heard the music, but they have given up now as they realise that it is just not going to happen!

We do make our own ice cream out of natural vegan ingredients such as nuts and fruit. We have an ice cream maker and I prefer it to the dairy ice cream that I used to eat in terms of flavour. You also feel better after eating it!
We also use our juicer for making fruity ice cream such as this in our video here: http://www.youtube.com/user/OrganicRawBill

I remember 9 years ago or so on my honeymoon in Ocean city Maryland there were ice cream trucks. I thought it was so neat because I had never seen one before. They played cute little music and went between up and down the streets. Last year in our little town someone went through town with an ice cream truck selling ice cream. To me it was a waste of time and I doubt they made very much money but my husband bought ice cream from them for the kids once or twice. It only lasted one summer so I assume it wasent very profitable and they must have decided not to do it this year.

They can be very charming and I bet it was neat to see one for the first time. I don't remember the first one I saw but I remember how much I loved it when he came. I don't think it would be very profitable unless there were a lot of children in the neighborhoods the truck cruised but I did so love seeing one again. Thanks for sharing.

there are no ice cream trucks here in our country. what we have is ice cream push carts. that is very popular all over the Philippines. though it is popularly called dirty ice cream. some say it is truly dirty for they push the carts all over the town and is it sometimes dusty and the dust goes to the ice cream. but for me i can say it all depends on the factory where it was made. but i can say it taste good, when you buy cheese flavor there are real cheese with it.

Wow..that sounds neat...cheese flavored huh? The only on the go icecream I have been able to get are premade and wrapped. I think it would be neat to have an icecream cart though. There have been a couple of people mention scoop type icecream from mobile icecream vendors but I have never seen any of those...maybe at a fair. Thanks for the response and I hope you and your family are well.

lol...I loved to catch that icecream truck when I was a kid. My children have only got to get one from a truck a couple of times...when they were very little. I had not seen one in forever. I think every kid should get one at least once from the icecream truck..lol...music blaring....thanks for the response.

I rarely see or hear ice cream trucks myself. For a minute there I forgot they existed. When I was a child or teenager, I use to hear them all the time. Heck I was one of the ice cream junkies that ran out to the truck to buy some.
The last time I heard an ice cream truck was probably one week ago in the neighborhood here. But before that, it's been like months since I heard or seen one. I don't even bother running out there anymore. I got more things to do. I buy my own ice cream at the local grocery store. hmmm good.

Jen-
Always good to see you on here! We have an icecream truck that comes through our neighborhood, but I can't see any sort of pattern lol. The last time he came through I had the exact same thing though, strawberry shortcake! I love those pops!!! The time before we all had Drumsticks. Yummy! It's funny, because it is just as exciting now as it was as a kid.

Ohh yeah...drumsticks....and one that looks like a rainbow colored rocket...rocket pop I think. I was about four different colors when I would get one of those. These darn icecream trucks need a schedule or something so we can keep up with them Anora. Thanks for the response and it is great to see you too.

Hi Jenn, long time no see the Icecream man. Don't know where they hide nowadays, or business no good and giving up selling icecream. So, what do it taste like comparing your childhood? Is it same or newly improve...
