Why Do You think "TOM AND JERRY" is still running?

Some classics are very hard to stop making, I don't know why because it's very simple and although I love it. (huge part of my childhood) It's very rare to see something that doesn't move on with time survive the television ratings. I think it's probably down to the fact that they don't cost much to produce, which gives them something to fill the time. There's always that demand too.

Why do I think Tom & Jerry is still running?....Coz they won't sit down and stop chasing each other around. HAHAHA! (corny!) Seriously, I think it's coz the storyline is uncomplicated and easy to watch. Since there are no dialogues, the actions are easier to process in our brains. It's just like looking through a restaurant menu with pictures compared with a menu with only words and descriptions. It's realxing to watch. Doesn't need any effort to understand the story. Kids watch because they understand it easily and adults watch because it's entertaining without any effort. It wasn't one of my favorite shows as a child, but I liked watching it if I didn't like the others that were on TV at the time. I personally preferred Looney Tunes. But then again, it's the same formula. No dialogues (what's up doc and beep, beep are pretty much what you hear..LOL!). Just plain cartoon slapstick fun!

Im 54 and i have watched it as a child. My grandkids watch it now. I never like it that much myself. It was just ok. I was more of a Flintstone fan. I still watch that because i bought the whole seasons.

I didn't even know that "Tom and Jerry" were still running so thanks for letting me know!lol I watched them many years ago as a child, which means when they first started showing them (in black and white)! They were so funny! I think the reasons they would still be around today are because they were are just plain clean honestly fun cartoons! They are simple and to the point and fun for people of all ages so parents can still enjoy them with their kids! Brings back great memories!

Well because they are funny, and very very entertaining. They quarrel a lot and at the end they understand and help out each other. Life lesson and laughter is a good if not a very good combination.

The reason behind the success of these cartoon characters is the true and passionate creativity and hard work to make them legend comic characters.You can feel great pleasure as you watching that show.Nowdays the creative peoples have not stucking with their own idea.They are running towards the moneymaking.Tom and Jerry are the example of passion for art.

TOM & JERRY makes my nephew laugh every day.. because every time they watch this movie makes their day. complete.. i wonder why this cartoon character does those things to them. so i watch by myself..and now i realize why are they laughing each time they watch..

It is an old cartoon but it is simple and funny. There isnt alot of talking so you dont have to worry about your kids learning things they are not suposed to. It is a cartoon with animals and everybody loves animals. Even now at the age of 18 almost 19 and i still watch it. It never gets old to me even though i have seen every episode a million times

Tom and Jerry is a classic! So many generations have watched this cartoon. I hope that it continues.

I watched it when I was a kid, but not because of liking it, but I just watched any cartoon that would be on TV. I have never found Tom and Jerry specially entertaining, neither well drawn or animated, so I wonder why is it so successful.

I think that Tom & Jerry is hillarious. It stands the test of time. It is like other shows from other eras that are still funny like Bugs Bunny, The Three Stooges, and many others. Basically - funny is funny.

Oh my goodness this brings back so many memories, I wonder, I wonder is it still running. My children are grown so no cartoons really run in my home these days, but boy do I remember the laughter and enjoy all of us received each and every show, including the re-runs. As a child I remember and enjoyed them so much, and even sitting there watching it maybe 100 times over it still made me laugh. If only today the little ones appreciated what in my opinion was clean funny cartoons. Thanks for the memories I will have to check if it still runs on our networks as I could use a couple chuckles from time to time.

I think people watch it so they can understand the anime Blood Plus (I've just seen a trailer for a live action version of this called Blood The Last Vampire) in which the monsters are referred to as "Jerry mouse" and the team hunting them as "Tom cat".

I guess they show Tom and Jerry because it's a classic among cartoons, never gets old, sort of like Bugs Bunny. I enjoy watching them both, especially now that I can understand English. Tom and Jerry is good therapy for depression or even just when you feel miserable. Who would say 'No' to a good belly laugh?

Every children likes to watch movie that can entertain them and also easy to watch. Tom and Jerry is quite catchy, and funny. Even though there are no moral message from this movie, but it still memorable, and helps you through your childhood.

i also watched the show when i was a lot younger. just this past few year i started back watching it and realized neither tom or jerry talks in the show lol. with that you can tell how in dept i was into the show. its a classic, very popular. when i have kids i would also hope the show is still running.

Hi, TOM AND JERRY is one of the bets and funniest cartoons in the world.Its characters a cat and mouse used to attract the children all over the world.I have also seen this cartoon so many years.I used to enjoy these cartoons in my childhood.The reason for running of this cartoon is because of its attractive appearance.

I love that show and am still watching it when I get the chance on TV. I really like how the two of them would try to outsmart the other and I would always get upset whenever Tom loses since I like him way more than Jerry. I also like to see episodes where the two of them would act as if they were the best of friends and then after, they would go back into their stereotyped cat and mouse roles. This is really just one of the most unforgettable long-lived rivalry cartoons that's great to watch.
