To earn money, you need to provide value in exchange for that as money is a source of value. Hence, it is better to provide free value to prospect whom you dont know to establish credibility and trust before asking for a sale.

you are right, pinksplotch.
I think a lot people are starting for the sake of money, however I think many people do it for the thrill, however when they do not get the audience. interest would die out and then you would find them not updating their site anymore.

No, I really like it. I always liked writing, and I think I am pretty good at it too. So it is really nice to get feedback from readers and to get in touch with others who are interested in the same thing. But that you make a bit of cash off it too, is a bonus of course! ;)

Hello! Well if you're good at something ,never ,ever do it for free! That's an old saying. I have a blog for quite a while and I have other ideas too but I am too busy or too lazy to put my ideas on paper..well online.. and some revenue will be welcome.
Many people around the globe blog for popularity or to make friends, to socialize or to make money. Internet is the fastest ,newest growing business area and the results are pretty much unlimited. There are a lot of success stories but they had their secrets. Still I haven't made a dime since I am online but at least I get to practice my English. Good enough for me.
Cheers!
