Divine Protection

No matter what happens the faithful continue to thank god for his divine protection. And indeed god himself said in the book of Luke that he's so interested in his children that the very hairs on their head are numbered. Matthew 10:29 says "Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet none of them will fall on the ground appart from the will of your Father". That begs the question: If they're all protected by the all knowing powerful hand of god, why then do believers lock their deadbolts, consult doctors, take medicine, buy firearms for protection, use seatbelts, put up security fences, require computer passwords, install smoke alarms, purchase health insurance? Think about it would people who really trust god for protection have alarm systems in their homes, take self defense classes, lock their vehicles, be afraid to walk down a dark street in the middle of the night? Why do crime illness and accident statistics apply to believers as well as non believers? Why would a believer ever need to hire an attorney, wear protective clothing, build a storm shelter, carry pepper spray, have a safety deposit box? why would a child of god ever have to make funeral arrangements for their own child? Why are the most religious often the most weary of sickness and death? Why isn't divine protection distinguishable from blind chance, human intervention, or the natural laws of physics? Ask yourself. lf god is omnipotent and if god's cherished children exist under his divine hand, why do they live their lives as if they are so completely and totally on their own? Do they really believe in divine protection? or do they just want to? Think about it. Those are all questions l kept asking myself over the years when l was still Christian. l just wanted to share them with you. Please give your honest opinion. thank you!

You have a valid argument against Christians. We do show a lack of trust in God. I wish we would take hold of Scriptures such as Psalm 91 which tells us that there is safety in abiding in the presence of God. After all, is God man that He should lie? God has made certain promises and He has always kept His promises. He has also made certain declarations, among them are: "We have not been given a spirit of fear." Also, throughout the Bible we are admonished to "fear not." If God has told us not to fear, that He'll take care of us, why don't we believe Him? God wants to be our refuge and fortress, but He can't be if we won't let Him. We Christians need to start trusting God in every area of our lives.

You are not admonished to "feat not" XD The quote which is a little bit above shows the opposite! jees! Maybe you should take a hold of the book of genesis to see the god of the bible's tru colors

Forgive my bluntness, but your ignorance and/or misinterpretation is overwhelming. I don't believe you even read the Psalm I mentioned. If you had you could not have made such a statement. As far as the book of Genesis, I have read it several times and have studied this book with a commentary and with a professor of Old Testament and Hebrew. You cannot tell me anything about God's true colors. So, let me tell you about God. God loves you enough that He gave is only begotten Son that if you believe in Him you will not perish, but will have eternal life. He did not send Jesus, God's Son, into the world to condemn it, but that the world through Him might be saved. For those who abide in God's will and trust Him, God's true colors are: He forgiveness for all your iniquities He healing of all your diseases He redeems your life from destruction He crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies He satisfies your mouth with good things He executes righteousness and justice for the oppressed He is merciful and gracious He slow to anger and abounding in mercy I looked up ever reference to fear in the book of Genesis and not once does God tell anyone to be afraid. When we are admonished to "fear God," it's talking about respect not being in terror of.

Perhaps you should have started at Matthew 10:28 - And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. In Matthew 5:45 is says, "For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust."

Yeah but my point was. That is said in the bible but those people still fear those who can only kill the body. And also that first quote basically tells you to live in fear.

God also gave you common sense to react to the things that happen here on earth. God is a protector but allows things to happen to even his believers

I've heard he plays golf daily. That must be the explanation for some unfortunate believers.

There really is divine protection. God has taken care of this ahead of time. No matter what happens. We are all eternal. Sure there is adversity. There is learning of some sort around it all. Often we do not see. One thing you can count on. If it's not your time to die, you will not die. Something will happen to prevent it. God has ways far beyond those of mankind. You have no idea. I do not ask you to believe. Everyone should be on their own journey to discovery. Whenever anyone claims to know it all, they simply quit looking. There is always more to learn.

What does "Your time to die"? it still means that if everything is decided then believers still should worry or do any of the things listed above.
