Are all black labs a hyper dogs? Mine is very hyper. All though she settling down with time. She still really acts young. She is 2 years old now. I was wondering how long hyper labs take to calm down? I hope it will slowly go away with time.

A lot of them are. There are some people who say that it's because these dogs are not as well bred today as they were a number of years ago and I would tend to agree. Every once in a while I will come across a solid, stoic, quiet Lab who is not scared, well behaved and seems to enjoy everything around him WITHOUT being so hyper and they are the greatest! But suffice to say, at least it sounds like you have a happy, healthy dog there. Some will always be like that, but it seems, in general, that most dogs start to calm down some once they are starting to get to be a few years old. Spaying will help with that too, in case she's not spayed. Obedience training can help, too.

She has been spayed. It didn't seem to calm her down. Don't quite have the money for obediance classes. I will do my best to calm her. I will probably have to be patient with her until she gets older. Loses some of that puppy hyperness.

Yep, sometimes that's all you can do. If you want to try doing some obedience training at home get a Gentle Leader collar with the training DVD and do it on your own. The puppy classes that happen at the vet hospital where I work take a lot of their exercises from that DVD. :)
