Do you think that poker sites such as party poker are fixed in the favour of certain players or that certain winners of tournaments are predetermined in advance. It seems that players who raise are rewarded while those that are cautious and go in on good hands are more often than not beaten by someone going in with a riddiculous hand. Several players have found similar disturbing sequences of events occurring and I was wondering if there was anyone else out there who had found this especially on party poker. There is no independant body to ensure fair play on any of these sites.

I don't think any of the RNG's of the major sites is fixed or adjusted by the sites.
But I do think, the bigger the site, the more newb's, and as such more people gambling with any two cards. Which can make it appear as if incredible odds happen more often, because they do when the chance is there more often.
But fact is, there is several poker sites to choose from. If you don't feel the site is good for you, try another.

I agree with you about the newbs and changing site. I had a high end straight on the turn today which was obvious to all and the only player left raised me. There was no flush around it or anything else to worry me so I went all in and the guy met the call. I'm laughing until a 9 hits the river making a pair up on the table and the guy has a pair of nines giving him four of a kind! He went all in on the pair looking for trips even though he saw the straight. I guess he thought I was pulling a big bluff or he was just a lucky mf or an amazingly good odds calculator but man that was a killer! lol! Glad it was just a Freeroll....:)

No. It's like in any game of poker. Those who take risks are likely to either be rewarded for it greatly or fall out pretty fast. I play on Poker Stars from time to time whenever I'm feeling bored and the odds are just random. It's a game of luck and skill. Plus, I'm pretty sure that it's illegal for things like that to be predetermined...especially with money involved.

I play on other sites like full tilt and betair and do ok. Its just party poker. It sucks. Me and several other good players have had the same problems. And yes, it surely must be illegal! Thanks for replying man. Guess we're all just getting paranoid....:)
