If you drink a lot of milk, you can gain weight from it. It's not like you will gain 40 pounds overnight though. It would take a while to gain a considerable amount of weight. I don't know how much milk you drink, but me personally, I drink a lot of milk. I average 2 gallons a day myself. Mostly chocolate milk. It helps when I have being doing heavy physical labor all day, or when I have been lifting heavy weights. It helps to ease muscle soreness, which I think they are absorbing the milk. Also, because I lift a lot of heavy stuff, the milk helps that it has protein, so I don't get hungry, and the calories to help with the bulking process. I used to not get hungry after drinking a gallon of milk, but that has changed since I have gotten bigger and stronger. It was my goal to get bigger and stronger, but I do admit that I have gained some weight and it is not all in my stomach. As a whole, I have grown everywhere. However, I am not giving up my milk consumption. I love milk too much, and it shows by how big I have gotten (in a good way). I usually hear from people on the street when they see me consuming an entire gallon about that being a lot of milk, and I reply that this is my glass. I cannot drink out of a regular glass anymore since I can take down a gallon.

No problem. My addiction would probably have me going to milkaholics anonymous. They would have to outlaw milk drinking for me to stop. I actually like the fact that I drink milk by the gallon, and what I drink in a week would take a family months. I don't get sick from it. Probably because I am not human.

Other than water & may be coffee, a lot of drinks affect our weight one way or another. If you drink 2 gallons of orange juice everyday without any type of work out, it will make you gain weight as well, not as much as milk will but still, strictly speaking of gaining weight. If you gain 2 pounds in a month drinking nothing but orange juice, it's still gaining weight. Our body is no different than a car. A car with full tank of gas will weigh more than the car with empty tank of gas. No matter what grade of gas it is. Your body will naturally lose weight if you spend more than what you take in. If you take in more than what you spend, you'll gain weight. Regardless of what "fat" contant the milk has, either 1% or 2% or other wise, it's about knowing your body type. If you have high level of motabolism, it will burn off more by doing less. If your body has slow motabolism, you might have to exercise more than others to lose same amount of weight. If you like drinking milk, think of intakes & think of your daily activities. You might wanna add few exercises or do little more. You should be able to keep your weight constant.

It depends what kind of milk that you are dinking. Whole milk has quite a bit of fat in it. 2% isn't as bad and skim milk is fat free. Just read the label and you will see how much fat is in the milk you are drinking. In children I have actually heard of them having Milk Bellies and that is from drinking too much milk and it makes them heavy. So yes drinking too much milk will make you gain weight. But you still need some to keep you healthy. I would say no more than 2 8oz glasses a day. I could be wrong with my number you would have to look it up. And if you are drinking flavored milk that has a ton of sugar in it. Really bad for you.

I have never heard of milk making you gain weight. I suppose if you drank too much it would add up. The only thing I heard milk can cause kidney stones if you drink too much. So just be reasonable with your servings of milk.

Too much of anything will cause you to gain weight including milk.
I know this because a cousin of mine suddenly started drinking lots of milk. She would drink nothing else. She was consuming more than a gallon of milk a day! She was definately getting fat. I overheard my aunt complaining to my mother that she didn't know what to do with her because she was constantly having to go to the store for more milk and she had to have some milk in the house for the other kids and for cooking so she could not just stop buying it.
She finally stopped drinking so much milk after she had gained 60 pounds. The reason she stopped drinking milk - she got interested in a boy who had no interest in a fat girl like her and he very bluntly told her so. She started drinking water instead of milk and started exercising and it took more than a year to get her weight back down to a normal range where that boy and others started paying attention to her.
