Newbie question: How to insert image within post?

I saw someone are able to insert emoicon within post content, may I know how to do that. Am I need to use the square bracket with IMG, or using HTML script like "img src"? I am thinking putting some emoicon would really make the post content more fun and attractive.

Once your posts are up to 500, which is shown beside your username. Then you are able to upload image for your posts. I love China

Thanks for your information. Does it means there's no way to insert any image within post if not reaching 500 posts? How about the bold word effect, does it come together after 500 posts?
