Yup! I sure did! I said I'd stay up all night if that's what it took till I finished my dad's cross stitch and it's now 3:40am and I'm finished!! I'm so excited that I had to tell you all about it!! I can't wait to show it to my dad tomorrow when I go up there.... that is, when I get out of bed. It's not framed yet but it will be dropped off at the framers tomorrow after my dad sees it. It took me about four months of HARD work to get it done. I mean HARD work! Every spare moment I had went into getting it done and I'm SOOOOOOO happy to finally have finished it!! LOL
So what do you think?

Thank you quita! I showed it to my dad today and he liked to have a fit over it. He really loved it and can't wait to have it framed which is what I'm going to do tomorrow. I was going to do it today but spent too much time at my parents helping them out that it was too late so tomorrow it will be.

Hey Sparks! Long time no see!! Where have you been hiding and why? I miss you darn it!! Anyway, I took it to the framers today and it's going to cost me $128. to have it framed and matted. The first price was $178. but I couldn't afford that so I had one of the matting taken out so it's just the one. It's still going to be really pretty when it's done. I hope to get it early next week.

Hi and thank you Jo!! I showed it to my dad today and he liked to have a fit over it. He really loved it and can't wait to have it framed which is what I'm going to do tomorrow. He's feeling better but not up to par just yet. His breathing isn't good at all and he still hasn't heard from the doctor yet about the tests they did on Friday but I think they're going to call tomorrow to see what's going on. Thanks for caring!! HUGS!!

Good morning Cat, u are very welcome. I'm so glad your dad liked it . I felt sure he would, it's beautiful. i'm glad he's feeling better. sounds like it's the same way there as it is here, the doctors or their nurses are really bad about getting your results of tests back to u. I think that's VERY TACKY they act like they do. Everyone who has had tests are anxious to hear. Hope they all turn out good. Have a wonderful day on this special day for u. hugs, jo

Wow! That is great! I know your dad will be so excited. Counted cross stitch is very time consuming. It takes me FOREVER to complete a project these days as I guess my eyes are starting to get too strained. I did a manger scene for my mother about 5 years ago. That took me forever to complete as well, but I was so excited when I did. To this day, I am shocked with the accomplishment I did, as I am sure you will be to. Congrats to your accomplishment! You have to post a photo of it on here.

Smack a cow!! A monopoly board?? I cannot imagine doing that!! That's just too much detail for me! The one I did before this one was detailed and also an 18 count which I vowed to never ever do something that tedious ever again. That's why it took me about 8 years to finish it. It's beautiful but way too much work for my eyes. (yeah, I'm getting older.... shhhhh! LOL) I'll post it on here for you to see, if you'd like.
Anyway, thank you cher! I showed it to my dad today and he liked to have a fit over it. He really loved it and can't wait to have it framed which is what I'm going to do tomorrow. I've done a number of them too and most have gone to my mom. I've made one for my niece and her new husband and a couple for friends. I don't have pictures of them all either and wish I had taken some before I gave them away. Oh well, mistakes we make and learn from....

Cool! I bet he will love it. I remember a quilt I needed to finish and when I put in the last stitch I cried! It was a pattern of different stars for my son in law when he was serving in Korea! I wanted him to have it for Christmas so worked day and night on it! He loved it!

Hi jillhill! That quilt sounds beautiful! I bet your son in law was right proud of it! My husband spent two tours in Korea, a year each time so I know what you mean when it comes to that.

Congratulations on your hard work! Many of my girls students are doing it in their spare time, but it does take a lot of time to get a cross stitch done. When it's done, it gives you a lot of pleasure and satisfaction. I think that it is worth it because of your hard work. I am sure your father will be extremely happy for it and appreciate your hard work. Take care.

Congratulations. I am pretty sure that your dad will love your gift. It's funny how people seem to be contented in buying gifts, when actually they can make one. I find hand made gifts much more "giftable" compared to the ones we buy in a store. hand made gifts are just not gifts, they are pieces of art that where created with love for the person the gift is for. I hope people would spend more time making gifts than buying one.

I agree, hand made gifts truly come from the heart because the person making the gift usually put a lot of thought into it, not to mention, time. I love doing crafts and am going to venture into making some beaded items too.

I know that you were really determined to finish it for him. I cannot see well enough and am not patient enough to do cross stitch. I seem to miss a lot of discussions, did he get out of the hospital yet? Did they find out why he blacks out? I hope you are resting peacefully now and that you have a wonderful day, sharing this with your folks.

Hi GG! Yes, dad got out of the hospital on Saturday but they haven't heard anything from his doctor yet about the test results from Friday. I think they're going to call him tomorrow to see what's going on. Since he hasn't called yet, that sounds promising that there's nothing major going on but still, there's something so we wish he'd get on the ball and call my dad.

Wow, that is fantastic! You’re so clever! Your dad is going to love it! You are so good to your parents Cats! My mother-in-law was very good at cross stitching; she made us a beautiful one of an Irish prayer when we got married. She used to love doing it, she had so much patience. Well done Cats, you’ve done a great job; give yourself a pat on the back!

Wow. That looks really cool. I bet your dad will be pleased and he would appreciate it since you put a lot of effort in it and it isn't easy to accomplish to give it to him. I remember my mom and sister used to do cross stitches and use them to decorate our house. They sometimes give it as gifts to their friends or to our relatives. I'm really proud of them since they gave a lot patience and determination to their work and they're really happy with their finished products.
I tried to make a cross stitch once, but failed miserably since I really didn't have the patience to do things like that. My mother finished it for me and did a cross stitch of my name. It was really cool and I placed it on my desk.
