At the very first time you saw this title, what cames into your mind?
Of course I'm not a grave robber, I have no interest in the horrible things in tombs.
Actually it's the direct traslation of a Chinese network word. It means replying to an very old post which has not been replied for a very long time. In usual forum setting , the post will be pushed to the first place of the forum. We describe this activity as digging tomb. I personally think it's vivid in some senses.
Recently I found some of my discussions which was started monthes ago were responded/commented, and also some very old discussion was discovered and deleted by admins due to violation of guidelines. These things reminded me this interesting Chinese net word I'd like to share here.

What an interesting word! This is something new which I have not heard of before.
I have nothing to contribute to your topic here but I have liked many of the internet terms invented by the Chinese in their forums. My favourite was "Taking the Sofa Seat" which describes someone who is the first to reply to a discussion.
Language is such an amazing thing.

I didn't know that, I guess many people snatched the sofa seat and just leave some mindless comment like "here I am again", or "hello", "I'm the first", "lounging on the sofa now"... bleh!

This reminds me of an old phrase in my native Hispanic origin we use. Digging Dirt, well this is what it translates to. When we say Digging Tomb that is what we mean Digging Dirt.
Interesting how so many cultures utilize words and customs so differently. For instance when other Hispanics, just so I do not violate and or come off as discriminative, when they say batteries they mean bass drum. When we say batteries it means just that.
So interesting.

bat is phishing meaning the person 's email to you is a scam and
he or she is using the logo of a well known US bank to get
you to give out your personal information to this identity
