HTML5 vs flash

It appears to me there would be no need for Flash and ActionScript once HTML5 with nice easy JavaScript kicks off... However, while HTML & JavaScript is nice and easy for web programmers, it may not certainly be as easy for designers who actually create the kinda content currently being produced on Flash. I personally prefer HTML5 as it doesn't require and plug-in to be installed and updated, but what you think?
