Hello everyone,
We would like to throw an engagement party, but we have no inspiration. We are the first couple in our circle of friends to throw such a party.
We would like to host the party at home and serve some drinks and dips. But what about a theme? Do we show pictures or...? I have no idea.
Tips welcome!

An engagement party is in lieu of a bachelor party or bridal shower am I correct? My husband and I had no party at all, no bachelor, bridal or engagement. We just got married at the church, we didn't even honeymoon.
In any case, I would suggest thinking of what the theme of your wedding will be if any, you could always tie the theme of that in with the theme of your engagement party. Our wedding theme was western (cowboy boots and spurs, hats etc) tied in with Fall. What time of the year are you having the wedding if you don't have a specific theme? You could always just theme the party with the season you'll be having the wedding in.
Serve refreshments, some snacks (finger foods), and then maybe one main course depending on how long you're going to have the party drawn out. You could look online to see if there's any engagement games, if you have couples who aren't married or engaged yet at the party you could play the compatibility game with their names (if they consent of course), and you could maybe watch a gooey movie or two, the girls that is... the guys could be in the other room watching a man movie or the game lol.

Well congratulations on your upcoming wedding! The compatibility game is fun, it's just taking letters of the people's name and somehow seeing how compatible it is, it's all in good fun.
