The way sehwag is playing in SriLanka, it seems he is only good batsman India has got. Sachin is not playing in this Series and therefore, these new ordinary batsmen are wasting their and ours time by playing poor quality cricket, at the same time, when I see Sehwag playing, I feel, he is the only one who plays for the country, any pitch, any opposition or any bowler does not affect him. He is master key of success in Indian batting lineup. If he plays for 30 overs, India's chances to win increases a lot.
Do you feel any other batsman presently playing in India ODI team can even be compared with Sehwag? (Exluding Sachin Tendulkar)

sachin-the maestro
Sehwag-the real entertainer
i don't think there is a need of comparison between these two players..both are great batsmen..
in an interview virendar sewhag said "i can never be half of what the batting maestro is..i am nowhere near him...i grew up watching and idolizing him ,his style, his shots i always tried to copy..."
i think these are the main differences between these two....
one,who is the most respectful batsman and the other is the most daring...both are great in their own ways...

Yes, I know Sachin can not be compared with any one apart from Bradman in the game of cricket.
However, I am not sure how Bradman would have played in this kind of conditions and whether he could be physically fit for 20 years like Sachin or not.
Here in this discussion, we are comparing Sehwag with other Indian players who are the part of India team. (Excluding Sachin Tendulkar)
My bad, there is a typo in my first comment, "c" is missing in the word, Excluding.

Yuvraj Singh is a very good player, he is like Indian "Atom Bomb". "Stuart Broad" and "Andrew Flintoff" will understand the meaning of "Atom Bomb" more than anyone else.
When Yuvraj came to the Indian team, it was very hard to get a place among the senior players because of that, he ignored his injuries and continued playing matches, at some point of his career his body had to get some rest and it happened last year. Injuries grew up so much that he could not focus on game, Indian media as always, related it to the late night parties and etc etc...
They forgot that he is the guy who played Natwest final for his country approximately 6-7 years back and he is the one who replied to sri-lanka for sachin's bad lbw decision by his will. Let us pray that he completely recoveres from his injuries and gets his form so that someone here on myLot can initiate a new discussion, Sehwag is better or Yuvraj... :)

Yes, their no doubt about sehwag that he is the only player which is in form & has scored century against New Zealand. But the others players are also as goog as sehwag.
Let us not forget that Yuvraj has played so many match winning innings & Raina is also a outstanding batsman

There is not doubt that Sehwag is one of India's great batting match winners along with Sachin. In fact, recent studies shows that his contributions in winning matches in Tests is better than Sachin. His attacking style of batting means that if he gets going then it gives India more time to win the match and bowl the opposition out twice.
Cheers!

Hi,
Shewag is the best blasting batsman in the international cricket, there is no doubt in it.I believe he is the only player who can break the record of SACHIN'S two hundred runs in ODI.Nowadays,he is not able to stand for more than thirty overs. He is not patience but he plays in his own style which is one of the plus point for him. Currently,he is the best batsmen in the INDIAN team after SACHIN.There are no chances for the other batmen to be compared with him.

Sehwag is indeed a player apart from Tendulkar who holds the innings and India rely on for winning matches...this I say from the current palying lot...Dravid would be another...but he is not picked anymore in the ODI scheme...he is solid and commande an avg of 40 (approx) and lends solidity to the batting...Yuvraj is fading away...Raina - good at no.3, do not understand why they changed his position...Gambhir - good in company of Sehwag...others - dont see them matching upto Sehwag/Tendulkar/Dravid

Yes, of course and he will remain as,
besides of this R Sharma is also a good batsman and he can play all type of game. He can defend, he can attack and of course he can hold the situation so R sharma desrve the 2nd Sachin Tendulkar.

It seems that you listen to the commentry more than watching the match. I have heard this kind of words from Gavaskar but never saw Rohit Sharma playing even 1% of that.
Comparison with Sachin Tendulkar is same as a human is being compared with God. Sachin has helped India to have its place in world cricket for more than 20 years, Rohit Sharma is struggling to get a chance in India team.
By mistake, if he is given a chance, he plays as if he has just woke up and came to the crease just for the name sake, check the highlights of the last series, you will come to know what I am trying to say.

Yes Sehwag is an exceptional batsman not just for India but for world cricket.
And he is also focused and simple in his approach to batting.
These youngsters seems to be not so eager to learn how to apply themselves to the different pitches, occasions etc. They are also not ready to correct their mistakes. They keep doing the same mistakes. Such players should be dropped and give chances to those who work hard and keep improving.
Sehwag is one of the best batsmen in the world and he will be considered in all time greats of cricket history too.
Because of him India is able to save some face in the ongoing series.
Happy Mylotting!
