She Thought It Was Funny...

...to throw a cat in a wheelie bin because she thought it would "wriggle free" and "is only a cat!"
I think people (including me) will hate her even more after those comments. How on earth can a cat wriggle free from a deep wheelie bin with a lid on it? Unfortunately, she hasn't committed a criminal offence so cannot be arrested by the police. The case is now being investigated by the RSPCA. The owners of the cat have appealed for calm as they don't want the woman lynched or something.
However, she should be dangled upside down in a wheelie bin for 16 hours. Torture never hurt anybody lol.

The more I get to know some people, the more I love my cats.
There is no excuse for cruelty. I like your idea, hang her upside down for 16 hours. Oh, what the hey, let's just make it an even 24 hours.

I couldn't agree with you more. As for my moggy, she's been in one of her loving moods today, even lying on my chest staring into my eyes and purring at one point. I just cannot imagine how anyone can say a gorgeous creature like that "is just a cat." I'd be lost without my cat. She stops me from feeling lonely when my husband is at work. Yes, she can be annoying but nowhere near as annoying as some people can be!

Where I live many cats particularly kittens and dogs are dumped either in wheelie bins or at the side of a river. It is heartless to say the least! Many of the Portuguese do not look after their animals and sometimes dogs are left tied to a post in the middle of a field (sorry I know this discussion is about cats) but it is both thoughtless and unkind to abandon animals including cats.

I couldn't agree with you more, abandoning ANY animal is wrong and yes, it goes on in this so-called nation of animal lovers too. I really wish people would get their animals neutured because there is an explosion in the cat population now (in shelters) due to thoughtless owners abandoning kittens because they can't look after them. Well, get the mother neutured then! Silly people!

That was not really funny. That poor cat does not deserve to be there. That cat didn't do anything harmful to the woman. And the woman thinks it's funny. How would she feel is she's inside there for hours. Trapped without anybody to help. What a very mean woman.

I'm lost with the current news. Is she getting some kind of punishment for this? I really hope she does. I feel sorry for the cat, if only the cat could talk, that cat will probably be really angry with her.
I agree with you Janey and Oldchem, thanks to that CCTV, good thing one is installed in that area. I bet too that she's really sorry she was caught. Ha! She deserves some kind of punishment. Hmmm. Take care of animals for months will do, but she'll be really guarded.

I couldn't agree more. She keeps saying that it was a "moment of madness" and "totally out of character" and "I wish I hadn't set eyes on the cat." What she "wishes" most of all is that she wasn't caught but, of course, she would never say this. I bet that's what she is thinking though.
Thank God for CCTV!

i saw this on the news earlier, she disgusts me,this is the type of thing we expect to see from the local hooligans not a middle aged woman, she probably only appologised because her soliciter told her to

Plus the fact she had to "face the music" outside her house, where the multitudes of press were gathered. She has a face that reminds me of Margaret Thatcher's..hard as stone and one I'd like to punch..repeatedly.

I know that there are some terrible acts created everyday on hum,an beings, but somehow when you see this sort of cruelty on a poor innocent animal like this it is awful!
She has been well and trully humiliated by it now though - her picture has been seen world wide and everyone knows what an evilb1tch she is

That's very true, she has nowhere to hide, thankfully. She seems such a hard cow though. Did you see her on telly yesterday? I think that was probably her mother walking alongside her and if that was me I'd be saying, "Ta-ra, I never want to see you again!"

Wow. Didn't she even imagine what if she's the cat and what she did was done to her? Personally, I want those who treat animals cruelly to let them taste what they did to them. Yeah it's inhuman and of course it's no different to the cruelty that they did but I'm just really annoyed with those who hurt animals just because they want to entertain themselves.
I think the authorities should do something about her and publicize it so that people who do stuff like what she did to the cat would not dare try to imitate her.

Oh it's publicised alright! Her face is slapped all over the newspapers and on the telly. Nowhere for her to hide although she seems such a heartless cow that it's not having the desired effect. Her mother is 80 and has said that it's totally out of character for her daughter to behave in this way as "she loves all animals." Well, on the evidence so far that's way off the mark and I would dis-own her for what she did.
What will happen though, is that it will raise awareness. People become sanitised and stick their heads in the sand. So, when something like this shocks people (the same people [not all, obviously] who would probably abandon animals at the drop of a hat) then it might make THEM think about what THEY are doing.
Hope so, anyway.

Hi Janey,
I was waiting for you to make this follow up discussion and glad you have, this womma should be put in the wheelie bin hanging upside down for sixteen hours like you said and for her to say "its only a cat", don't she she know that cats have feelings and fear/ if I was the cat owner I would charge her for causing that fear for the cat. I hate her as I have two cats and wouldn't dream of hurting my precious babies.

Apparently, she has said "sorry" since then but only because she had to come out of her house at some point. She's also said that it was totally out of character..so why do it then? D'you know what I mean?
My furbaby is so cute..she went missing, only for a few hours a while back but it was awful not knowing where she was (she spends most of her time indoors) so when she was found by the neighbours under a parked car I was so relieved the tears just came streaming down my face. Multiply that 100-fold with the owners of Lola and you realise what precious animals cats really are. People who don't understand have never owned a cat, pure and simple!

I don't know what is sadder that she did it in the first place, that she thought it would be funny or that it's not a crime in the eyes of the police. Hopefully the RSPCA will be able to find just cause to bring a case against her.

If I find it funny to harrass her and make her a prisoner in her own home, make sure she loses her job, and tell the world that she's an evil old bag THAT should be okay then.
It is a total lie to say she thought it would get free, the bins have heavy lids precisely so cats and foxes CAN'T open them. SHE KNEW THIS and is just pretending she didn't because she has been caught and exposed as the nasty specimen she is. I wonder what else she has done and gotten away with because there wasn't a camera or witness.

That's a good point you make there. I only hope she hasn't got kids or animals of her own. Can you imagine living with THAT on a daily basis. Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.
We don't want the authorities just banning her from keeping animals for 10 years or whatever, as she doesn't like them anyway. She needs to be banged up..and quick because I fear for her safety I really do. I wouldn't go "looking for her" as she's miles away in Coventry and I don't condone a lynch mob..but prison is the safest place for her to be, it really is.

When the cat was found she was lying in her own faeces and rubbish that had been thrown in the wheelie bin...not surprisingly, in a distressed state after being stuck in there for 16 hours.
I saw "that woman" on telly coming out of her house. Didn't like the look of her..face like stone. Saying "sorry" is a bit late now!
