I just finished reading Maya Angelou's Why A Caged Bird Sings and yes I highly recommend it. This is my first time reading this type of book- because it is written as more of a memoire.
Before that I read Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol- which also was a great read- but then again I am a huge fan of his and think all his book are great!

hi sofie84,
recently i read kristin lavransdatter by sigrid undset. i loved it but i don't know if you would like it. i'm just recommending it because it was a masterpiece in so many ways. it still haunts me to this day.
it's about one woman's life in medieval norway and the trials and tribulations that she had to endure. it's difficult to describe to a person who has not read it.

If you like Chick Lit you should read Kris Radish. Annie Freeman's Fabulous Traveling Funneral was awesome! The Sunday List of Dreams was another great one by her. I also really like the Real Vampires series by Gerri Bartlett. This series is really great as well.
