I have heard that the more you consume tea the more you gain your weight, I am not getting what half a cup, gonna do for your weight. Even if you consider full cup tea thrice a day it won't be much I guess.

See, I've heard the opposite - that specifically green tea will help you LOSE weight. of course, so long as you don't put a bunch of milk, sugar, creamer, etc into your tea and make it unhealthy. I really can't see how tea could make you gain though. There's no sugar in it, it's natural, and it has caffeine - which temporarily boosts your metabolism. So, I wonder where you heard that from?!!

I've heard that drinking tea will help you loose weight. I know green tea is supposed to help, and I've heard something about white tea once or twice. Tea isn't really a high calorie beverage, so it shouldn't really make a huge difference, calorie-wise, anyway.

I had heard it the other way around. Tea helps you lose weight. Well, green tea is supposed to help you lose weight. I suppose you could gain weight with tea if you put tons of cream and sugar in it. I love tea and drink plenty of it. I am not losing or gaining weight though. Frustratingly, I am stuck at my current weight. I need something to break this plateau.

Hi Kartiknaiduk, what kind of tea are you referring to? Chinese tea and green tea do not add weight, since these are drank without sugar and milk. Most people do not drink CHinese tea and eat cookies at the same time. These are consumed after a heavy meal to wash down the food. English tea or red tea are drank with milk and sugar, and usually people eat cakes or cookies with it. That may account for the weight gain.

do research on the tea you are drinking. alot of the teas that are in cans or bottles are made with bad things. try the packets you soak in hot water. try making ice tea.

Drinking Colas and Softdrinks are directly link to weight gain because it has glucose, calories and carbohydrates. You can't feel it because you are drinking it and not chewing. natural Tea don't cause weight gain but sometimes they detoxify the body but commercial teas have syrup which has a lot of calories and it can gain you weight especially if you are not engaging in exercise.
