I have a question. I was watching on the news where someone was keeping an alligator as a pet and it got to big so they decided to just let it go. Well the alligator ended up on a street and some people had to catch it. The news said because the alligator was so big and older they would not be able to transport it, to a facility like a zoo or anything so they were going to send it off to a processing house and have it processed ( Killed!!) and made into food. I know alligators are mean and they eat people but I thought it was kind of cruel, what do you think??

Well, it was really kind of cruel. It wasn't doing any harm and they were able to catch it. Maybe they were just too lazy to bring it to the facility or the town fancies eating alligators. But, I think the owner was irresponsible. He should have surrendered the animal to a wildlife facility while it was still big enough to handle and not just let it go. What if someone got harmed or eaten? I bet he wouldn't claim that it was his. But I think he also feels bad if he saw the news that his pet will become food. Nonetheless, I am against animal killing.

I can't afford to watch any kind of animal being killed in front of me., I cannot take the violence, It will scare the hell out of me.., and it's kind of cruel to kill a dangerous animal who have never done anything bad.., =(

I'm an animal lover and I really don't like to hurt animals and do bad things to them. I'm also annoyed when there are people who treat them cruelly and inhumanly. But when my life or the lives of my family are compromised, as much as possible I don't want to hurt or kill dangerous animal, but I could if they pose a real danger to my family and I. Anyway, if the officials can't do anything about it, and it poses a serious threat to the community, then what could you suggest that they do to him? It's a cruel thing to do of course. But if they could go rampage and kill people, could you still say that you love the animals and embrace it and just do nothing when it attacks you?
I also don't like what they're going to do with it. Why are they going to make him into food? It's cruel enough that they kill him. But to turn him into food is just going overboard for me.

I guess yes when it is already doing harm to people but if they don't, it is really not fair for them to be killed. It is being cruel already.
