Hello, I have been thinking of making a compilation of things people learned in life. The purpose of this is to educate ourselves on what we can do in order to make our children's lives better. i.e. how do we teach our children to understand the value of money and how to handle it properly, how do we make them understand the importance of education and the effect of having a god one... etc.

thats a good kind of compilation... maybe ill make one too!!
the best thing that ive learned in life... is how to be responsible. i have not been responsible in my younger years. i dont care sooo much. i do things i wanna do not thinking for the consequences. it is stupid. but im thankful that because im stubborn i was able to learn this important lesson in life.

thanks, i thought so too. I've been putting off this project for so long that i almost forgot all about it. thanks to mylot, It is already in the making :D
points to ponder:
-how do we teach our kids to be responsible?
-being stubborn does have its advantages.

We can teach our children about responsibility by starting it at an early age. Maybe at the age of one year. I have a one year eleven month old son and he already knows how to throw trash in the trash bin. I showed him how to do it when he was only one,and until now, he still do it. I also taught him how to fix his toys and turn off the television when he gets out of the room. Starting early is the best. Infants can be easily guided, just have patience..:)

taking responsibility for our actions is one of the most difficult things in life. sometimes the consequences can change our lives and this is how we learn to make better choices. things don't always turn out the way we expected, but hey - that's what makes life interesting.

That is certainly something great. I have not thought of that and it will be a welcome development if you could share what you have compiled later on for other read and perhaps from there, it may serve as a guide for other people to emulate. Perhaps you can come up with a website or blog about it and publish it from there. I certainly would like to have a peek on your insights.

I come from Indonesia. in my country there is a government program, ie family planning. family planning to expect, every married couple, have two children. all this is done so that government doesnot happen to realize the dense population and family welfare.

One of the things i learned and now cherish in life is that life is better if you always put yourself on the positive side. We tend to be negative when we see negative like negative news we see on tv or when we had a bad time at work or at school. There are times when we drag those bad vibes at home. From experience, this is often bad. In my opinion, you shouldn't bring those bad emotions with you at home or you'll ruin the essence of "home" in your mind and there'll be a lot of times when you'll feel bad at home and you don't know why.

optimism and having a positive outlook on life can make the world a better place. nice! I've read somewhere that saying hello with a smile on our face makes us feel better about ourselves and just about anything. i know it sounds silly, but when you wake up in the morning, face yourself in the mirror and say hello with a smile.

Well i should have been a better son to my parents. I felt that i could be better but i am afraid that whatever i did till now isn't enough for me. I always want to do something more or special to my parents. Now i have got the chance and i am sure i can make them proud of me one day!
Cheers!

showing our appreciation and affection towards our parents can be the source of great happiness and bliss for both the children and the parents. it rarely happens to most families, but when it does... it can be magical. thanks!
