It sounds like a weird contradiction of sorts, but it can and will happen. There are times where I feel like I am so tired that I should crash. Then again, I am so out of it, that my brain is almost in overdrive and its hard to focus on getting to sleep, because I have no energy to focus. It is strange when it happens, I'll tell you that much. So have you ever been too tired to go to sleep? Looking forward to reading your responses.

Hi, It can be happened to me sometimes. Especially when I was sick, I just can't sleep after taking my medicine. Not sure why and it is contradicted from my husband. When he falls sick, he really need to sleep more, then will recover soon. Sometimes, I just feel tired on my body, but then my brain still not tired and I just can't close my eyes.Sound weird, but it did happen in my life. I guess too tired will make me feel hard to sleep..

Yes, sickness is a big thing that can cause some problems when sleeping. A lot of problems to say the very least. Medicine can complicate those problems sometimes. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

It happened to me several times. I was kind of really exhausted that it made my body too tired and felt like it'll going to collapse yet my brain remained active and restless. 0The worse part of it was that it is even more difficult dozing off after all possible means have been tried . I resorted to taking sleeping pill just to help me doze off.

A lot of the times, I just ride it out. Sometimes its just one night every now and again. However, the worst case scenario may force other methods. Of course, it is frustrating, the body is done, but the mind continues to work, even if it knows its tired. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

When I'm overworked my body would tend to say "I need a sleep now" but my brain is still very awake, depriving me of that well-deserved sleep. I just hate this kind of feeling. Sleeping is really one of my all-time favorite pass time. So, I just wish I could enough this these days.

Yes, I have...If I get too tired, then I get anxious. It's making me hard to sleep. I need a few moment to deal with that feeling, by reading, browsing internet, or other thing.

You see with me, I can really try and do something, but then my mind will be on that. Therefore, I need to really get to sleep a lot of the time right away and not do anything. Still most of the time, I find myself lying in bed a lot of the time, just staring at the ceiling blankly. Thank you for your response. Have a nice day and thanks.

Yes, I have experience this feeling a lot of times, and also another similar feeling - too hungry to eat. I did read a book about medicine. It said that the reason we can have this feeling is our nerves can become numb and accustomed to the repeated stimulation to protect us from body damage.

Yeah I think that might work for many people. In fact, that might work for a lot of people. In my experiences, it is something that just keeps me up a bit longer. I just lay back and hope it comes soon. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I have actually had that happen before so I do know what you are talking about. Right now I've had 5 hours sleep and I am exhausted from doing so much on 5 hours of sleep. All I want is to just go to sleep. Usually what happens in your case where you are so tired and then cant sleep...with me what happens is I will drive for a really long time and then when I try to go to bed I'm so tired I feel like I'm going to be sick if I dont fall asleep but I cant fall asleep because my legs will twitch and ache so bad. Its called restless legs syndrome. I used to have it all the time when I was a kid which is probably no wonder since in school you sit at a desk for approximately 5 1/2 hours each day.

Yeah that can be a problem. At those desks at school, your legs are in a certain position. And those desks can be a tight fit a lot of the time. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

I know what you mean! Sometimes I feel so, so tired, and feel so extremely frustrated because I am in bed and very tired, but I just cannot seem to go to sleep. Once you realise you're having problems sleeping, I think that makes the whole situation even worse, and you have even more problems! You just have to relax and hope for the best I suppose. Everyone can survive if they miss out on a night's sleep or two, it's only when it becomes a recurring thing that it really becomes a problem.

Yes, sit back and hope that the sleep will come. That is the idea a lot of the time. Of course it is easier said than done. Still, its something that has to be done. A couple of days won't hurt like you said. When it gets into three days, four days, a week, or more, than it really gets into problems. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and thanks.

I have had that same problem. I get so tired sometimes sitting here in front of my monitor typing away that I feel the need to go lay down and go to sleep... when I finally log off and try to get some rest my mind is going a hundred miles per hour and I cannot sleep to save my life. This happens to me frequently. It always makes me tired and grumpy and just unsettled all the way around. Sleep deprivation is worse than a hang over!!

Yeah lack of sleep can do some tricky things to our mind. Not to mention our mood. A lot of the time, it causes us to lash out people, say and do things that we really do not mean. It is really just the way it is. Still, it just proves that sleep is really essential for the mind to work. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.

There have been a few times in my life when i should have gone to sleep when I didn't. You get to a certain point and you don't feel tired anymore. then before you know that moment of defeat comes. I can usually tell that i am getting too tired and need sleep when everything starts to become funny. I did this more when i was younger. i don't do it as often anymore.

Sleeping patterns change for the weird when you get older I think. I think it's really only downhill from here from where I am. As a child and teenager, I really did not have this problem all that much but when I hit about 20, everything started getting wonky. I think the fun's only just begun. Thank you for your response. It is much appreciated and it contributed to the topic well. Have a nice day and thanks.
