I woke up really early today, and as some of you know I don't usually have good days. Today I was a bit optimistic, bang then after about 2 hours my bubble was burst. Here in Chi-Town we have unforeseeable street cleaning and the city is suppose to put up signs with minimum 2 days notice that a particular side is going to be cleaned, soooo my street did not have any signs and I received a call from a neighbor to go outside, you betcha the city gave me a freaking parking $50 parking ticket. What! I am not a mind reader and there were no posted signs, it seems several neighbors also received the ticket. After wasting half the morning, mind you I could've been trying to earn my next buck, Ugh.. It seems I am stuck and wait if I do not pay before 21 days the ticket accrues by double and will continue doubling monthly. So any ideas on how I can earn additional from what I already struggling to make. So I am livid and well now I have to figure how to get this paid, I am already online round the clock - How have you all experienced unforeseeable expenses. Perhaps $50 - $100 may not seem like much to some but my well is dry, so it is quite an expense to just give away, especially when I have other suffering debts.. Ugh. Sorry for the long posted discussion I am really upset right now.

Wow!! No notice and they still give people a ticket? Sounds fishy to me. I would think it would be manditory to make sure everyone is aware of things like this before they do them? I hope since this, that they always make sure everyone knows or you play it a little more cautious just in case. But I know what you mean about thinking you have it all down pat with your Bills, etc. and then a Surprise. Makes you wonder when things could ever get better for sure.

Pretty common around here, and worse part about it is that the judge expects us to be mind readers, as the simply phrase always given is that ignorance of the law is no excuse. All all for the fact if we are neglectful, however, how can we be ignorant of the law when we have not posted schedule as to when they are suppose to be cleaning. One of the major traits with our City is that it is well known to drain us out of last penny. I won't even begin to tell you if some one get's in real trouble as if have no money you simply are completely out of luck. Sad.

how much down can things get, .. now that you are in the well, and the well seems to be dry,... can you stoop down more/ .. can there be more trouble? .. NO. it has to be up only. YOU should be CLIMBING back, and coming back to your speed and originality. I wish, you should challenge the TICKET, in a court... do that tomorrow morning, first thing. YOU don't need a lawyer for that. JUST report your situation, and tell what comes to you, as a sequence. all the facts, that you are not a mind reader, to have understood about the no parking conditions. and, keep cool. ALL will turnout to be well. HOPE i could help you with more opportunities, to earn something more than your routine. .. Did you try writing articles ?

I thought about that and one of my neighbors said not only did he lose a day of work over it he ended up paying. Can you believe the Judge clearly stated Ignorance of the Law is no excuse. Ugh, what law seems to me if there is no sign well then there is no law to follow. I will give it a shot but I have 21 days and the ticket will double, see the city is slick they will double 4 times then set out an order for the vehicle to be booted, which then it is pay all the fines and a $500 dollar penalty as well. Thanks for responding I appreciate it, and as you said there is absolutely no going further down, unless I die of course.

Yes, put the most time into the ones that do pay. As far as mystery shopping goes, some are paying by Pay Pal now and it seems to go faster. I like the kind where you do not have out of pocket purchases.

I hope so too, although I feel I am wasting so much effort with a great deal of sites. My survey site really is the one I am most happy with as I can cash out every week. So I am taking time by the end of this month as some of the sites really have to go, as I am working round the clock and not making much. Thanks for responding have a blessed day.

Do you ever do Mystery Shopping or Product Demonstration? You could probably earn it doing either of those. There really are legitimate ones out there. Even though there were no signs and lots of people got tickets, the city still expects you to pay? Mut be another way to fatten their coffers.

Yes in Chi-town the city is all about getting money from the lower class people. Seriously they thicken their wallets and lay off so many people. I will have to get back in the secret shopping, as I did OK with them it is just the long wait to get paid. Sometimes 6 weeks for $10 bucks. Thanks for your suggestions and have a wonderful day.

hi hardworkingurl I missed this five months back for some reason sorry. You know my husband had something similar happen to him years back and you do have a right t o contest that ticket in that your street did not have any signs, and this was the same for my husband so he contested it and the judge asked the officer who gave him the ticket if indeed there was any posted signs. the officer admitted there were none and the judge dismissed the fine. so try it as its your legal right. hope this helps.I had one one hundred fifty dollar copay dropped on me because the medical person here sent me to the ER via ambulance because my arms were swollen up with an allergy when it would have been cheaper for me to go by cab so I spent 20 dollars every month topay if off only to have the fooled ambulance co come back and send me back my 80 dollars as the insurance p aid it off after all.Thats one time I lucked out. that was a huge amount to me as all I have left after the admins here takes out monthyly rent and board from my social security and ssi checks is 125 dollars for my personal needs. so anything I earn from mylot is so much more help.

Ms. Hatley it is an honor to have you drop by me anytime. As myLot discussions are always open endlessly and it is such a pleasure to interact with the Queen of myLot. I will pay more attention to contesting here on in as you are right, there is always probability and room for error. I will forever remember to check off the option on any ticket that I want to contest. Let's just hope I never get another one though, Have a lovely day/night.

Somehow this is how I am forced to live these days as I can make two bucks then immediately have an unexpected $10 expense. The day after this occurred I received a $45 dollar check I completely forgot was coming to me and Yippee I felt I can pay this ticket. So I jumped in my truck and on I was to the bank to deposit the check and darn my truck overheats. So there I have it an automobile now waiting to have a mechanic take a look, but of course I have to come up with the money as they charge just for telling me what's wrong then comes the repair bill. So there it sits waiting for another miracle and I suppose no time soon. Yuck!

Things like that have happened to me, too. I hate it. It's as if everything else isn't bad enough. I've gotten a ticket when I had lost my job and had been out for four hours doing a photography job, $150 to pay my bills with, and I got a ticket that I don't think was fair and it was $125. I was so upset that my whole evening had been essentially wasted, so I really know how you feel about when it seems there is never an end to the bad.

Nothing like that has happened to me. However, I know some people who have. Courtesy is something that is a foreign concept to many people these days, don't you agree? Then again, it is somehow your fault that you did not know that something like this has happened. Sometimes, its really amazing how something like this would happen but with the overall incompetence, it really is not in other ways.

There would have been no other way to figure out if the streets would be cleaned if they do not put up signs. In my case there were no signs and the online street cleaning schedules are not truly clear as to what dates this actually occurs. I went ahead and paid the ticket, but did get some resolution for all my neighbors though. They now put signs all over the place. I made a big stink one day with one of the cleaning crews and he so agreed that the city is not good about it. Thankfully I live in a really caring neighborhood that now the crews are making sure if there are not trees available to hang the signs that they do so by putting them on the gates of the homeowners curb sides. All neighbors and I are happy with this now, and the happiness cost me $50 bucks. LOL..

Things happen when we thought everything is okay, but little miracles also happen when we least expect it. I am sure, you will find solution to pay the ticket (though I also believe it's unfair).

I was greatly surprised alright as I did a project back in July and logged into PayPal today to find I was paid $45.00 for my efforts back in July. I had completely forgotten about this one so instead of having earned I now feel that I have lost. As great I can pay this unfair ticket, but that extra $45 bucks could've actually gotten us groceries for next week. Thanks for responding. I hope I can get an unexpected surprise soon so that this now burden I can put to rest from my brain.
