You must have seen many ancient picture/photos of Man Eater trees and plants , do you think they really exist? or they are really a man/animal eater? It is supposed to be in Africa, but I don't know it is real or fiction...I have only read in Magazines and Newspapers... PLEASE REPLY...

Hi Crazy, I really dont know. And thanks for this topic. I hope somebody comes up with the answer. As to life form like that, it very well might exist. Logically speaking we cant imagine what is not possible. So may be it existed in the past, and then because of inadequate food, the species just disappeared. Or may be the seeds of that lie dormant somewhere for the right condition to come up. I really dont know.

Carnivorous plants are plants that obtain some or most of their food (but not energy) from trapping and consuming animals or protozoans, typically insects.
You dont have man-eating trees as in Harry Potter or elsewhere!

Actually I saw a movie long ago - much before Harry Potter stuff, in which they showed the branches of the tree just getting sensitive to human touch and almost closing in like the touch me not, effectively trapping the man. I am still not sure whether it was a fact or fiction. I came into this discussion hoping somebody would indeed clarify on that. Venus fly trap, and sundew are two carnivorous plants about which we were taught in the books though.

I'm not sure whether they exist, but they have not been discovered by humans yet.
I think it's possible for them to exist, since insect eater plants are there, they have proven plants can catch animals. So I believe if a pitcher plant is bit enough, it can eat people.

I think anything is possible, I also believe people are not so open into believing that the outer limits of earth can actually exist.
