I am using Kaspersky Internet Security 2011.Man it is damn good. There are two new features called Safe Run for Applications and Safe Run for Websites.Safe Run for Applications allows you to run infected programs without harming your computer and Safe Run for Websites allows you to visit potentially harmful websites without infecting your system. So Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 is the best.

Kaspersky like most software slows down your system, overal its a pretty good software but for best results I recommend Norton 360 suite, i have it and use it daily

I don't think kaspersky takes less memory than other anti-virus programs.I have used many anti viruses and found many good. Some are Norton 360,Norton 2010,McAfee,Kaspersky,Avasta(Slows you computer if your ram is below 1GB)

I have used both Norton and Mcafee and both have let me down. I suggest Vast as it is very dependable. The software lets you know right when you get attacked by a virus and then takes care of it. I also like that it "tells" you with an actual recorded voice of the warning and the steps taken to resolve it.

@raviudal Agreed. Avast is a pretty light-weight anti-virus which doesn't take too much memory when running on the background. It's simple and easy to use, and not to mention that it does the job of keeping your computer safe and virus/malware free "without much configuration". @alex_raju Although it is true that anti-virus softwares can be configured accordingly, I'd still have to say that Avast is definitely faster, even without configuring it prior to usage. I've installed and tried a lot of anti-virus suites out there, and we all know that these programs, by default, installs and enables all additional features that their suite may have, which often takes up space and memory. Just starting up your pc takes much more time with these other anti-virus programs installed.

Indeed! Me too! The technology they use is very smart and it takes not very much ram or memory usage and that is one of the main reason it is so good to use. It also detects malware very fast.

I have used Avast professional. Because it is a very good antivirus and valid till August 2012. And it is a full version antivirus. And always secure my PC against some unwanted applications and viruses. So I am satisfying with its working. And also their speeds are very good and never getting slow speed of computer during scanning.

I use Avira and its just the free version but still they provide you with a good update every other day. It detects even the latest trojan and viruses. Some of my colleague bought the original version and they said it's worth the price. I said "can I borrow it so I can test it" they said : "nice try but you can't!" :D Try the free version first for you to find out. One more thing, Avira doesn't slow your computer performance.

Okay personally i use Avast! anti virus... it's free and gets updates like every 4 hours (the updates are like 1 sec) it finds trojans, it blocks incoming threats from some websites like piratebay But the best protection i can think is Norton (not the free one) the only problem in Norton is that it takes alot of Cpu storage and makes the computer slower, so you need a a bit better than a average computer if you play games that is. And if you need firewall ZoneAlarm is good, the only problem is that if you are in the internet it always asks Do you want to accept the incoming source etc. anyways i'll say Avast! and Norton -Pliskin
