Hi Linda, when your phone broke, it doesn't mean you have to buy for a new one soon. You can bring it to the service center to do the repair. Its not practical to buy every time your phone is broken. There are some Lucky people that can afford to buy for a new and some are not.

I was also going to say.. a new one may be expensive. If it still can be fixed, why buy a new one? But if the price of having it fixed is the same as the price of buying a new one, then it would be better to buy a new one especially if buying a part of the broken cellphone will render it quite expensive.

I am and always have been sorry for your situation and I always wish that things could work out for you and I also have to admit that no, I wouldn't be able to afford a new one. In fact, I have been wanting to get a new one for I lost my other on and haven't been able to find it at all. $-MrDollars-$

I should be able to buy a new cell phone, really a cheap one, but yes, I can afford it. Sometimes I go on ebay & look for cheapest phone I can find until I can afford decent phone.

I had a time like this.. my cellphone then was quite old but still workable. I keep praying it will still last long even though a rubber band is need to keep it working. I was proud of that cellphone, it had withstand a lot of falling and being broken apart, even some swimming underwater. Cellphones today are not as sturdy. Ahhhh.... my old secondhand Nokia 5110. It took me 3 months before I could replace that old cellphone of mine. And even today if my new cellphone is to get broken and won't be to get fixed, I won't easily be able to replace it. Might takes months again before I can replace it.

I hope your phone will be fine, so you can continue to use your mobile phone. If your phone is damaged, you can try to fix.

My phone broke 3 months ago.. and I was so brokenhearted.. It had been with me for two years and I missed it a lot.., It was my companion when I'm bored.., I used to read ebooks there.., browse the internet.., play music.., and take pictures aside from its communication purposes.., and unluckily.., I cannot afford to buy a new one on my own so sadly I have to use an old model with a broken camera... =( But my dad is coming home by october and he bought me new one with wifi capabilities.., can't wait to get my hands on it..=)

Of course you can afford to buy a new one! Just not the one which you really like. Just teasing you there! :) If my phone broke, I could buy a cheaper one just for the basic functions like text and call.

I already spend $50 to get a refurbish cell phone since my phone charge port didn't work. Now I'm having the same problem again and hoping that it'll last till February which I can get a new phone by making a new contract. But if it breaks again, I'm so not paying $50 for another refurbish cell phone that's going to give me the same problem. This cell phone should be in recall cause I read a lot of people online having the same problem. But Verizon says there isn't a recall and aren't putting the phone in recall.
