In recent years, several kinds of new type epidemic disease break out uninterruptedly. From SARS to BIRD FLU,then SWINE FLU,and now i hear about a new type virus called superbug. We have to do through baptism of disease and virus uninterruptedly.
It is really frustrating. What's wrong with us?Why don't we contribute our power to the environment right now?

I dont really think the world is getting any worse than before.
So far SARS and bird flu are not as serious as the Spanish Flu, and not as serious as the outbreak of diseases in the Middle Age.
I think it is the way the news are reported that make things seen worse than before. The medical community is well equipped to handle many diseases.

But the variety of harmful bacteria is increasing all the time. And what is worse, virus variation happens more and more frequently. So the superbugs appeare and they show highly resistant to our medicine.
And it's true that these new type bacterias do take many lives. So what about you ?

If you ask me, I think the pharmaceutical firms have to sell their products. What other way than to develop a new disease? So there we have diseases that spread among cows, chicken and now swines. Next disease will probably be for sheep or something. If you notice, all the aformentioned species are kept in a farm. Convenientisn't it? Now if you ask about catastrophes that's easy. Global warming. Saw a documentary about it. It said that greenhouse gases stop the sun induced warmth from leaving the Earth. And so the icecaps melt ergo even less warmth is reflected off from the face of the Earth. And so we have a cycle that we can't break. According to the documentary the icecaps would last until 2050 or so and the all warmth would change the climate all around the world. Very cataclysmic. Hope I'm not around to see it (although from the scientific view it would be fascinating).

Hi,
Yeah, I feel that the world is getting worse day by day. Actually the world is getting very old and it has been sick for a long time. We humans that made it sick in the first place, by digging oils, gold and other minerals from the earth. We use chemical fertilizers and produce a lot of harmful carbon monoxide into the air. We pollute the ozone layer and now U.V. rays can reach us and cause a lot of unwanted diseases.
People are involved in a lot of new businesses and we don't know how much it can affect the overall health of the earth, but we can see the evidence already. We do business because people need to live in an easier way but everything we do has a price to pay eventually.
Whatever it is, life has to go and and for me I leave everything to God. If not, I would be a very unhappy person because I have to think and worry about these problems day and night.
Happy day!

Yeah, your words sound resonable. Everyone has a responsibility to protect our common home. But someone get their wealth at the expense of environment. Can they just think of the others' interest before they start to break? There are always someone who is selfish.
Thank you for sharing.

...it's not the world that is getting worse, i guess..but rather, the people living on it..=)...we are the suspect of everything that is happening in this world we live in...pollution, green house effect, everything is because of our selfishness and dissatisfaction...it would be best that if we wish to change the world, let us start the change in our self..=)

yes,our world is getting worse due to many reasons.....such as due to all these poisonous smoke which is generated by all these chemical factories, which pollute our climate....and is getting more worse because of shortage of drinking water....we have sea water more than drinking water......

I do think so.The environment is getting worse and worse with the development of economic.I still remember that we could directly drink ground waters about fifteen years ago,but now..Have you watch the movie "Earth 2100"?People form all the countries must be allied to defend our EARTH.But now, what can we do is just to begin from myself.
