Nowadays, twitter is the biggest social netwoking site after facebook. More and more people from worldwide is joining twitter daily. For those who have twitter account now, you use twitter for what purpose? Are you been categorized as active (the one who frequent publish message) or inactive (subscribe a lot of other people tweet)?
For me, since I own a blog, I use twitter as a tool for me to get closer with my blog visitor. I will inform them through tweet if there's any important message I wish to tell them, they also can send me feedback through twitter.

I do have the same doubt like you before I start using Twitter, why Twitter since we already have facebook? But lately I find out even though Twitter seems like a simplify version of facebook, but due to it just focus on message sending, people will pay attention on the message. Facebook just too much distraction, all your friend can post anything - message, music, video, game request etc. and we will easily miss out important message that been shared in wording.
Besides, I think sending message through twitter is also more private compare with facebook.

You made good point...i also missed some important news on facebook just because someone was asking me to help with their farm or something I see how twitter could be better because it's simple but haven't got hooked on it yet. Don't know if it's more private tho. Have a great day

I guess I am still in the 20th century as I just don't see why people feel the addictive need to be so accessible and so constantly "in touch" with everything body and everything every minute of every single day. Doesn't anyone want "me" time anymore? I have no inclination to let everyone I know, no matter how well I know them...know my every move. I don't want to know theirs their. ANd since you only get a few characters to use on Twitter and even on text messaging..what's the point? I know abbriviations are big and shorten words and all.. but still...what kind of converstion is that? And to be able to talk to multiples at once? Oh, just think of the problems that could cause if you text to the wrong person by mistake. I had this recently..my daughter put me on her plan as I do day care for her daughter. My son texts me too and we were talking about something and suddenly I get a text from him saying "Some one has to do something or say something. Mom is going to kill herself if we don't". I text back..."why am I going to kill myself?" pause, pause, pause, pause...times 10..(realizing he sent to wrong person and thinking of excuse time") then he comes back with "you seem so stressed".
No, to me, that is just to much unnecessary communication. Want to talk to me? Call me on my land line!

I've recently started on Twitter, but I'm not really sure what I'll do with it. I find it hard to get followers, because I don't really know anyone yet on twitter. I want people to visit my blog via twitter and things like that. I just want to share what's on my mind, maybe share some cool links or something.

I do have a Twitter but I don't use it a whole lot. I'll use to tweet what I'm doing, news articles, or just whatever. Like the last thing I tweeted was about how Philadelphia would like to require some bloggers to have a license to blog.

I use my twitter to post links to my reviews and follow people that I like or get things from.
