From the recent news, would you be afraid enough to travel to Philippines for while? Because it seems to me after all these happen, how could I trust my life in a foreign country like this, to its incapable authority to protect me while there is a hostage takeover or similar incident. 10 tourists from HongKong were killed, and this truly impact their tourist business for while. Because of the incapable police forces take no action to protect the people, that means it won't be safe for anyone to travel there. So, what do you think?

My dear friend, I myself am a Filipino and I can speak for most of us when I say that this is as traumatic to us, as it is with the Hong Kong nationals who were held hostage by Mendoza. Please understand that this thing can happen to anyone and anywhere, but this is an isolated case. Filipinos are warm and hospitable people, we will never do intentionally or otherwise to hurt or scare our visitors. We (Filipinos) are also outraged with what happened, but I hope and pray that the incident will not create a stigma on our people, especially those working abroad, particularly Hong Kong.
Peace.

Well, I am not here to condemn filippinos people, or accused them of brutality or anything like that. I simply saying the government or authority of Philippines didn't make a proper measure to help save those hostage, instead causing such tragedies. If similar happen, which I wish not, would the philippines police forces commit the same mistake again. On television, they obviously not admit that they made mistake though, how we, as foreigners will be safe to travel there.

...i am a filipino, rather than saying i am offended i prefer to say, I understand how you feel about this...yes there our government official is at fault but we should not generalize everything...Philippines is a good country, we care for our tourist more than we care for our fellow citizen..we make you feel at home, but sadly, incident like this happen sometimes...but let us consider the fact that this is not the only country who failed a hostage crisis...yes i agree that the police who responded to the incident were not able to handle the situation very well but surely, we have a lot of filipino policeman who were better...yet, i understand your sentiments about this..

I agree with you Jhyan007. I am also a filipino even if there are other people condemn us and even if its true we still felt hurt and offended of what they are saying . We are hospitable person and I think the other country must prove that we are good people. But as I said, were not perfect and just like this incident the other country also have this. we are human and we have different attitude. so, don't judge the all Filipino.

As a part of Chinese, we are heart-broken. Today there is a piece of news from Chinese Government that we are refused Philippines vice-president's visit to China. Everybody knows that it is incapable authority of Philippines and incapable police forces that cause this disaster. But Phillipines government does not take this resposibility but pass the buck. We are all angry at it. If it is not solved perfectly, it must have a negative influence on two countries relationship involved every espects.
