I've been from a family victimized by poverty. I am the only one who got a degree in our family, and that is thru my own initiative by self supporting. I easily got access to different and nice companies for a job. I must admit also that as this recession occurred, made me jobless, but still believe that it is important to have a degree. And this is what I want with my young relatives to know, that having a concrete certificate could be the best access to land for a good job. Most often, companies preferred to have degree holders, and that's a good chance for us to prove our ability. Though some says, it is okey if you don't have a degree, ability alone can be an access to a good job. Certificate is not as necessary as before.
How would you rate the significance of a concrete evidence of education? Would you agree that it is no longer important today unlike before? Your opinions are most welcome.

I think a good education is necessary nowadays because of the rapidly changing technology. If one don't have any necessary skills then he/she won't have a chance to land in a good job. But for me, college degree is not enough. There should be some skills and talents from a graduate student which he/she should utilize in order to land in a good job. Like the other businessmen in the whole world who didn't have any college degree, they had some skills and talents that they used in order to succeed. Everyone of us is unique and we have different god given talents that we need to enrich.

it depends from what country you are from. i think in some countries student can land a job even if they just graduated high school, and a good job that is. but now in my country though. and even being a college graduate does not also guarantee a good job also for a person often times.

A good education, not a college degree, will help you get ahead in life. There are many successful men who do not have college degrees, but they are all avid learners. Most of them are voracious readers. The school is not the only place where you can get educated. In fact, you learn the most important lessons in the real world.
I'm a college drop-out, and yet I support my whole family. I have a good job. I work at home. Luck has very little to do with it. I am a writer and a transcriber. I have good communication skills. When I was a young girl, my late grandfather encouraged me to develop my latent abilities. Now, I am making use of them and I'm earning more than most college graduates in my province do.

it will depend on what industry you want to be in.when you want to have your own business,I believe that is 80% skill,20% degree.you will successfully run your business using the lessons and skills you acquired during actual running of operations.for corporate jobs,I believe that is 50% degree,50% skills.employers look into skills more.

Hello - Hello are you my daughter, Ha... I received a call from my son today who 2 months ago graduated college. Mind you with a 4.0 gpa all 4 years. I tried my darndest to persuade him to go to grad school.
Due to my recent job loss he insisted he wants to work to try and help. Well it is now 2 months no job, only but one interview and he is so disappointed. May I not forget to mention we have 140 thousand in college loans.
I have heard all the stories similar to my son. Personally the economy has taken a twist on this concept as there are far more unemployed than employed so the chanced for a recent graduate are a bit slimmer. I know a few of the boys that graduated college with high loans also. Working in gas stations, restaurant, retail stores and bars.
So was it worth it. Not so much.. at least right now. So if planning on attending college must go all the way. Grad School, law school and or medical school not doing so well you just completed another 4 years of high school. At least it seems that way.

yes a good education is very important in today's society, and some departments to education as barriers to entry ,but their skills, knowledge is more important factor in how future development,in fact, not by academic decision, but by their skills, strength determined,So I say we should pay attention to their own ability.

I would actually think that it's more important. More jobs than ever require a degree, and now that there are so many people going into higher education, people have to work extremely hard to get a good degree classification as well.
Not only that, but young people are finding that they still cannot get jobs with the degree that they earned, meaning that they are having to go onto do a postgraduate course as well, spending even more money and time in education.

Actually, since the economy crisis, to find a job is very hard. Too many college graduation competitors. So if we're not a college graduation, we can't compete with them. Unless you have a better work experience.

earning a college degree is important of course since education is everybody's right. however, landing a good job, good life, good future depends on the attitude and character of a person..
there are lot of college degree earners who have no job as of now and being dependent to others. on the other hand, there are people who did not step college but succeeded in life..
for me, the attitude of being responsible in all ways is the most important thing to have a good future and to succeed in life. in fact, i realized to teach children to be responsible enough all the time for them to have a good life that instilling in their minds that earning college degree would give them a good life..

I think degree is still necessary as before. There are three main reasons I'd like to talk about. Firstly, degree is a certain requirement of many companies especially the larger companies. Without a degree you properly will be passed before interviews.Secondly, as a staff in a company, you may benefit from a high degree such as promotion, training opportunity. Last but not least, the process of getting a degree is one's important experience in the whole life.

Education is very important. I think we should always strive get a degree in college as most big companies would want to see a college diploma for top positions. They want to see it as evidence of your hard work in getting your degree. So I think it is still very important.

Yes, a college degree is definitely still necessary and I think that it is even more important than before.
Well, it is true that there are many cases that people still do succeed and do make lots of money even thought they have no formal education.
However, having a college degree would make our life much easier, it provides us a path that is much easier to walk with.
Furthermore, many large companies look at qualification first before they even consider whether they want to hire you or not. Without this piece of paper, you might not even have a chance in the society to stand. Okay, I might be exaggerating here. But, we have to admit the fact that a degree is very important or rather, it makes our road much easier to walk.

Having a college degree is really important. This degree is sooo important especially when you're looking for a job. Though some course/programs that schools are offering are not that necessary, maybe it's still important to have a degree, because it's still honorable if you graduated from college with a degree in a specific course. Companies need this for you to be hired. College degrees are still important today and hoping also in the near future. IT'S REALLY HONORABLE IF YOU'RE AN EDUCATED PERSON. :)
