Unfortunately, my garden is going to have to wait a bit longer...was hoping to have one in this year, but it won't happen. But you look like you've been quite busy-and you may have some prize winners there! Best of luck!

Your photo makes me hungry! My winter squash did well this year, too. I planted acorn and butternut. I'm cooking a butternut squash right now! But the summer squash didn't do well at all. I put them on a new piece of the garden because zucchini and yellow squash will grow anywhere, right? I guess not. Tomatoes were slow getting started, peas and beans did very well this year and the bell peppers did well, too. Cucumbers were worthless. Maybe one a week from two vines. I don't know what happened there.

hi Grandpa Bob oh how I love acorn squash and I doubt if we weill ever be served that. we do get zucchinis and canned corn but no squash nor any cucumbers either. I am going to have to sta rt finding a nearby grocery store and buy some fresh produce occasionally. Wish I had a ga rden]as I would grow my own.

Wow! Sounds like you have quite a beautiful garden. How long have you been gardening? This is my first year of growing my own veggies, so I just started out with the basics. I can't attach photos to my replies, otherwise I'd show you some of my goodies; including carrots, lettuce, peas, green beans and cucumbers. I also have tomatoes but they aren't too impressive yet. Next year I'm going for the smaller ones... I also have a small group of sunflowers (my fave flower!). How difficult is it to grow sweet corn? I'd love to grow some! Have you ever grown pickling cucumbers? I also want to try them next year.

Well done. I am envious. Its just too damp here right now to even bother touching the garden, need a few days of sunshine. We are just starting our spring here, September, so won't be long and I'll be out there growing a few things for the summer. Too wet in the winter where we are and the ground just gets too parched at the heat of summer...need good organic materials and mulches. Keep it up.

Your vegies are beautiful, specially the green peppers. Didn't have time for a garden his year. We had a garden of weeds and sunflowers. The sunflowers planted themselves.

I can only say WOW! to your picture. As I live in the southern hemisphere, I´m just preparing to plant my veggies. I bought the lumber to make a couple of very small raised beds and my daughter gave me 8 raspberry plants. The seedlings of tomatos and leeks are begining to show up in their containers; the coriander and parsil are better (I won´t move them from the pot). Do you think that 8 raspberry shrubs will be enough when they grow?
