I have lots of fears; spiders, heights, people, driving, etc. and I haven't over come my fear for any of these, rather some are fairly new fears. The only fear I've over come in life is my fear of the dark... and ghosts (as long as I don't watch horror movies). Have you ever over came a big fear you've had? How did you do it?

I have lots of fears as well but the one that concerns me is the fear of failure. Because of that, it stops me from trying new things and from taking risks. But I'm happy now because I am trying to overcome that fear. I have been trying new things lately and also took some risks. I got inspired by this quote "The only real failure in life is the failure to try". So regardless if it will be a success or a failure, I have come to realize that it pays to try and take risk.

One of my biggest fear was driving. I was learning how to drive and mom was there oo to help me out and then one day i went over the sidewalk. It traumatized me a little bit although the sidewalk was empty. i didn't want to drive after for years until now. I can't ask lifts all the time and i must give lifts for my mom instead so i have to pull myself together and drive once again. One phobia I still have is worms. just riting the word gives me goosebumps.

i still need improvement but I try to drive safely and let all the impatient drivers go ahead. Cars that stick too close to me make me nervous. I still dislike to drive but I am trying my best because it seems that cars hav become a necessity...

I hate bugs and am afraid of most of them but most of all spiders. I killed every one I could reach until about 3 years ago when I had a change of heart. Now I catch them in a glass and talk to them telling them to please stay out of my house and then I let them go outside. For some reason we now have a lot less spiders in the house.

I have a phobia of being inside an aeroplane. It took me several years to even get on one, and then I went to New York on one, which took 9 hours to get there. I was so proud of myself then.
I definitely have not overcome my fear- I am still extremely scared, but I will now at least go on them.
I have a small phobia of driving as well, which is a bit of a pain, as I wish to pass my test very soon, but I just go to pieces whenever I even think about it!

I also have lots of fears. mostly small animals that looks scary or not just looks, they are really scary like worms, snakes, and the likes, so mostly reptiles. I'm also scared with newly born cats and dogs, but if they are about let say 2 months old, i love them really, except reptiles, huh?
I already got over with my fear to travel by water. And my first experience adds up to my fear when we experience storm during our journey. So that was traumatic really. So I swear not to ride again to anything that travels in water. But one time, we we're invited to a place which I didn't expect that we have to cross to another island, all we're excited except me. I have no choice but to take the risk otherwise I will go home alone, at will take me until midnight to reach our place. They assure me that everything will be fine, so I just sit quietly and pray hard the entire journey time. No one attempted to spoke with me for they know that I'm sincerely praying and I'm nervous. Since then, I was convinced that, wherever you are, whatever you do, if it is your time, it will be. Now I can go travel by water transpo, and it was a good feeling to overcome it. I'm not trying to overcome my other fears for I missed a lot to enjoy life.

Every fear is a product of lacking self confidence.
You fear of ghosts,of heights, darkness, being alone, fear to fail to lost etc,it is becoz we lack of self confidence.
So,the biggest factor that we need to conquer is,our self confidence.
When we believed in ourselves,we won't have any fears in life.
There are times that i lost my self confidence esp when applying a job.
I felt so nervous and i can't focused with the interview.
So,i realized that,if we don't believe in ourselves,we fail and we are afraid of almost everything.
Now i always tried my best to beat my fears and tell myself not to be afraid.
Yes,i gained and conquered my fears,i had all the confidence that i need.
Have a good weekend
