I have just found my long lost cousin through Fcebook. My cousin is 1 year older than me and although he was born and bred in London and me Lancashire we were more loike brother and sister as children and spent a lot of time together at my grandmothers or him at my home or me at his. Unfortunatly after the death's of our parents, aunties etc we drifted apart, both moved and haven't been in touch for almost 10 years. But now I've found him on Facebooks and we are in cotcact again. He put this picture on Facebook of me and him outside his flats in London in 1955!! I look like I have a real grump on! Have you met long lost friends or family through Facebook?

Hi oldchem, That was such a sweet photo, I guess it brought back a lot of memories for you? Such a happy reunion for you. I have been connected to many classmates and friends through facebook but there was nothing too emotional, just the usual add on and occasional updates from friends. I appreciate news from friends overseas though because it's very hard for us to meet and facebook is the most convenient form of communications for us.

From thephotograph you can see that my cousin looked like a littleangel with his mop of blonde curls - but believe me he was more than !! When I used to stay with him in London we would get rover tickets to travelaround the city on the buses and he was always jumping off and leaving me stranded in a strange city!!

awww...that's just so heartwarming to hear...call me a sentimental fool but old photos seem to bring tears to my eyes, especially when I know something about them, like yours....

Hiya chem, I can´t complain about Face book really as I have found one or two People that I knew at School but any other Friend or Relative apart from that not at all. I wish I could find them but seeing as they don´t want to seem to find me I´ll just leave my profile on there and see what could happen. You have been very lucky indeed to find your Cousin just like that. You both look great in the picture and did´nt he have lovely curly blond hair as well? Who were the flowers for were they for you. I don´t think that you look grumpy a bit down in the dumps but nothing else. I remember those kind of shoes too.

I know ! Like you, I also found a lot of my relatives that I haven't been in touch for a long time through Facebook. Made me regret why I didn't move in right away. It seemed to me at that time that I couldn't leave my friendster account. I didn't know what I was missing the whole time.

It certainly is a great tool for finding 'lost'friends and relatives, I am glad that I persevered with it and didn't delete my account as I was inclined to do.

I have found friends that I have lost contact with years ago since school. I had a friend of mine in grammer school that moved out of the area when we were in 8th grade. I found her about 6 months ago on facebook. I hadn't talked to her in over 30 years. It was so wonderful to play catch up after all those years.

Yes, I have.. many of my cousins that I was not close too and some old friends that used to live next door when I was a teenager, one of whom I used to babysit for.. I was able to find them on FB and reconnect. I think the site is great for that. I have met tons of new friends -some of which I wouldn't mine "meeting" someday.

I met my old friends in facebook. I lose contact with my college friends, and high school friends for several years. Network feature in facebook help us to find our friends. However, since I knew mylot and have been paid, I didn't so active anymore in facebook. I don't have time enough to login to my account and chat with them.

I haven't found any lost friend or family on Facebook but I have met friends whom I lost contact with some 15 years ago. Since I live far from family now...it's a good way to keep in touch with them and get the latest update from home through photographs and status messages. My mother posts each and every cute thing my dog does. I miss him so much and I don't know what would life be without Facebook.

I think that this side of FAcebook is sp good. I have four daughters and (almost)10 grandchildren who live 60 miles away from me so it's a great way to keep in touch.

Not yet but I able to help one of my in-law to find his way to communicate to his family which he haven't seen for almost 20 years, I guess. I just contacted one person in fb from where his family located and luckily this person able to know them and provide us the contact details of his family over there.
